Discovery - BAD SERV

Discovery bank is a serial uneducated and poorly managed busines. They try to make and earn fees from the public witout delivering a service. A very well established principle! You can only earn if you deliver. No service no fees!s.
I closed all business with Discovery shortly after I opened an account and heard about their great offering. I found their service lacking. So this was time consuming but eventually accepted my account was closed. Then I received a notice that there was fees against the Credit card they issued. I told them with closing my business I obviously cancelled and destroyed the card. It was rarely to never used. I did not want credit and I originally added a credit deposit on the card, which was paid out to me on closing my Account. However they, Discovery bank maintained that I was responsible for a monthly fee on the card. Which I did not use or intended to use it was destroyed and still they attempted to keep me liable for credit card fees. If they claimed fees it will mean they get enriched without delivering any service. That is not acceptable and not allowed. You can only charge a fee if you deliver a service to earn a fee!

Intolerable & hostile working environment as well as incorrect interest rates charged on debt review client's
Discovery Bank Risk Operations , is a terrible place to work in. The head of department and Chief Risk Operation Officer treat their stuff like dogs, forcefully over working them and don't want to engage in thoughtful disagreements. The environment is hostile and intolerable, some debt review clients if not 60 % are been charged incorrect interest rate (System issues or misalignment) . All debt counsellors should be aware of this and quickly assist their client. All clients that are under debt review should always check their monthly statement every month and make sure that they are charged correctly.

About being listed on a *****
Good day can you kindly help I had an account with Discovery bank which I was frequently used and I lost my handbag with my card and my phone ..Then I didn’t do anything about it I just bought a new phone ..when I try to contact Discovery they told me I was listed on SAFPS because lots of money was in and out of the account .Now when I try to open other bank account it was declined because of my ID number has been listed in SAFPS ,I’m 25 years of age im worried about how it might badly after me from employment opportunities

Absolutely frustrating service from Discovery Bank. Shocked at the service. i had a credit card which was paid in full. Fica documents submitted. i get constant emails saying that i need to provide the very same documents and information that was already sent to them. after speaking to over 10 consultants over 2 days im always told i need to escalate to a team leader. the error is on our side.... after literally begging to remove the Fica block and help me get a replacement card as i cant access the app, which i might add, discovery blocked when i reported my card lost, i get told that they cannot help me. i need to wait 24-48 hours. i must make my 11 month old child wait 24-48 hours to see a doc because i cant access the funds on this card why is is so painful to get help from Discovery??????? Why are the consultants unable to provide proper resolutions to the issues i called with. i cannot unblock the account. i cannot access the app to request a new card. im begging for help to try and find another way to get a replacement card which will take 5-10 working days. i mean really. my frustration has literally gone through the roof. since when has discovery bank become so lax in resolving matters? what's the need for a call center that cannot assist clients? if this is the only way im going to get some form of help then i will insist here that i want someone to call me who has the ability to help me and not give me 100 hundred different stories

I'm frustrated at the moment. I currently have a credit card and revolving loan with you guys. I want to move across from Nedbank and open a transactional account with you but no one calls me back. I'll have to consolidate my Nedbank credit card, personal loan and overdraft into one loan. I also want to consolidate the revolving loan I have with you guys. I just need someone to contact me so I can see what my options are.
