I experienced an issue with the electricity I purchased, as it did not load onto my meter reading. I was assisted by Makkie Van Stade, and the matter was resolved swiftly. The service was efficient, professional, and timely. Thank you for the excellent support.

They should honestly end these online metering systems, because honestly they can't maintain it. I went to bed with almost 200 credits and woke up in the morning to -134 credit. Two weeks later, which is today, I went to bed with 166 credits and woke to -41 and there was no power. I bought more credit again, guess what the power did not come back. I called several times, all consultants keep saying they will reboot the power will be back in 15 minutes. There is this particular one called Dineo, she was so rude. I also spoke to another one called Rudzani, she wasn't rude but definitely needs training on how to speak to customers.

I’m writing to express my disappointment with the lack of transparency and communication regarding my electricity account. Yesterday I topped up R150. This morning I had no electricity due to a -R350 balance on the account. When I called, I was told this deduction was likely because water charges for March and April were not billed at the time. A few weeks ago, we received an email and SMS stating that water charges for an earlier period would be deducted from available credit, and I saw those units deducted. However, I received no prior warning or statement for the current deduction, and there’s no supporting evidence showing how this balance arose. This leaves me concerned about whether billing is being app**** correctly and on time. During a period when many households are under financial strain, unexpected deductions without notice create real hardship. I request that you: Provide a detailed statement showing how the -R350 balance was calculated, including dates and service types. Confirm whether proper notice was issued before the deduction. Review the account for any billing errors and restore power while this is investigated. Please treat this as urgent. I expect a written response with supporting documentation within 24hrs.

Pathetic service from protea metering, every time there has been a power outage in our area electricity does not come back at my house. I have called Protea Metering numerous times, but they are not willing to check what is a problem. Just now I spoke to one of their consultants she was not willing to listen to my problem. I wish I could let their CEO know bad the service is.

I am extremely frustrated with the continuous billing issues I’ve been experiencing with Protea Metering. Last week, I was incorrectly billed over R800 for cold water, when my actual usage should have been around R138. After sending emails and receiving no response from Ethan, I had to escalate the matter to management at Amatle Properties. The issue was only resolved after I personally followed up via phone on Tuesday. Now, just days later, I am facing the same problem again. I have been billed R1,736.50 for water usage based on incorrect meter readings. According to my records, the correct reading (as of 15 April) should have been between 191 and 193, yet the billing reflects something completely different. There have been constant reversals, errors, and inconsistencies on this account since I moved into Capital Heights in March. This is not a once-off mistake ; it is a pattern of poor billing practices and lack of accountability. What is most concerning: - Repeated incorrect meter readings - Inflated and unjustified charges - Lack of response to emails - Having to constantly chase resolution myself This situation is unacceptable. I should not have to fight everytime to be billed correctly. Protea Metering needs to address these systemic issues urgently. Just a warning to everyone out there, if you apply for a new apartment and they work with Protea metering.... RUN for your life!!!
