Based on recent customer reviews, Nu Debt Management is overwhelmingly described as a source of harassment, unauthorised debits, and unresolved disputes. Customers report being pursued for debts already settled, paid-up letters not issued, and personal data misused. Communication channels are largely unresponsive, and trust in the company is severely damaged across nearly every review analysed in this dataset.
The most common complaint about Nu Debt Management, based on Hellopeter's AI analysis of recent customer reviews, is Trust, Transparency & Compliance. Customers repeatedly allege POPIA violations, *****ulent debit orders without mandates, and harassment over debts they do not owe or have already settled. Many threaten to escalate to the Information Regulator, NCR, or Ombudsman. Trust, Transparency & Compliance (1.2) reflects deep concerns about ethical and legal conduct.

Biggest ****. I keep getting sms messages about a summons and pending judgement because of a Telkom account that was handed over. I regularly go to the Telkom Walk-in Customer Service centers to enquire and they even advise to ignore the messages. All my accounts are up to date and none of my debit orders or subscriptions matches the amount NuDebt claims is outstanding.

I have been debited by this company, and it is now the second month. I didn't authorise any debits or even recall receiving a call from them. The debit orders are showing with reference: NUDEBT EDTBAYL for R191.00

Here’s a concise X post that stays within the character limit while clearly setting out the issue: I am extremely frustrated with @MTNza and NewDebt. I’ve been blocked from upgrading my MTN account because of an account allegedly opened in 2024 which I never opened. I have already submitted a police affidavit confirming *****/identity theft and sent all supporting documents to both MTN and NewDebt. Despite numerous emails and phone calls, I have received no meaningful response or assistance and am simply being sent from one department to another. This has now been ongoing for weeks with no resolution. I need urgent intervention, feedback, and correction of my account records. Please can someone from MTN and NewDebt actually assist and respond. #MTN #CustomerService #Identity*****

Very poor client service, we are making payments but they keep on sending messages to say no payments was made, we are sending through the Proof of Payments and still keep on saying no payments was made. When we call them while busy talking they drops the phone in our ears.

I had a contract with MTN and they handed me over to 1stly Strauss then to NuDept management now NuDept has refused many times to give me my statement of my balance however I pay R1000 each month, that is the agreement, at some point they attempted to dept R5000 which I reversed. This month they have not debited I called and followed up yesterday they said they will debit at night, however they did not debit still, I called today and they said they are not sure why. This company is emotional abusive and their bill just never ends. I don’t know what to do now

I can not rate NuDebt. Because nobody came back to me in connection with my query. Thank you.
