Mother of late twins harassed by Vericred and Ampath This matter is only 1 year old but I will keep it brief. I took just less than a year to be able to pay Ampath a small amount of R1731.00 for Acc. XXG51549. *********** Vericred staff state that they don't offer settlements for medical bills yet I settled another medical bill just yesterday which was R7013.00 when handed over and I paid it off with R4000.00 and even got a paid up letter. Because I have no more patience to deal with a bunch of unprofessional Vericred employees, I have already paid R1000.00 to Ampath and will not pay a cent more than the balance of R731.00 owed to Ampath. Today marks a year of me losing my 2nd baby girl, 1 of twins - my other baby that also passed away on 02 February 2025 - Ampath can't deal with me paying them so they just refer me to a bunch of idiots at Vericred. I refuse to pay Vericred for the +R440.00 legal fees when I clearly contacted them for a settlement. I have no wish to keep this chapter of my life being dragged on because of these unprofessional Vericred and Ampath workers so please provide me with details of where I can LODGE A FORMAL COMPLAINT for a small amount of R731.00 that I can pay off to Ampath provided Vericred doesn't bother me anymore. All the Ampath staff can do is refer me to deal with a bunch of idiots at Vericred which I have no interest and time or patience for anymore. Banks even offer settlements so I don't care to understand why Vericred doesn't as I do not wish to hear from them ever again.

Be careful when using Ampath, they double charge their clients. I have made a payment at Ampath with my bank card, for the full amount, before any blood was drawn. Now I am receiving outstanding invoice notifications. Rather make use of Lancer, their accounts department are much more prefessional.

I have been sick since October 2025 and have been trying to pay down my Ampath bill. I have reduced what I owe to just R1,000 on my account. Despite this, on 5 May 2026, Ampath sent my account to a debt collector called Vericred. Since then, Vericred has already added R225 in interest. If I was already struggling to pay, how am I ever supposed to finish paying now with creditor interest piling on? Ampath is a pathology lab meant to help diagnose sick people, but their billing department is ruthless and lacks scruples. I will never use Ampath again. Anyone reading this should think twice. Lancet is much more humane, I have never been subjected to such by Lancet.

Ampath handed over a PAID account to collections and threatened ITC listing, and now nobody wants to assist. I received the following SMS out of nowhere: “Your DRS DU BUISSON account **********3318 remains unpaid, it will now be listed on ITC.” This was the FIRST communication received. No statements, no invoices, no calls, no emails... nothing. When I queried this, I was initially told that the account was unpaid by the medical aid. The problem with that explanation is that this related to my husband’s account, which was in fact paid by the medical aid. After I challenged this and provided proof that the account was paid by medical aid, the story then changed and I was told it now related to tests performed for my son in December 2024. Ampath has outright refused to provide the settlement amount and advised me to deal directly with NCCS (collections). I will NOT do that for an account that was already paid IN CASH!!. I attached proof of payment and since then nobody has come back to me despite their stated 24-hour turnaround time. It has now been days without any response from Accounts. They are exceedingly diligent in handing accounts over to NCCS (Collections), but seem unable to provide statements, invoices, payment allocations, or any supporting documentation to back up their claims.

Please do not get blood tests done at this place. Their accounts department are totally disconnected & unprofessional. I paid my account fully, yet they handed me over to attorneys and did not bother to give a status update to attorneys or ITC. Now the credit bureau is on my case for commission fees? Ampath do NOT care about people or their credit scores. They are treating people like ********s. I will never go there ever again. If I can select 0 stars, I would have.

I submitted a request for refund on the 24 April and no one has acknowledged my email. When I call to ask for my refund, I keep being told that someone will call me to acknowledge it. They do unprofessional. Not only that, I didn't know I had a refund due to me. No one called to say this is your amount. No communication at all. Very bad service

Ampath accounts department dont have a clue about competence. MONTHS after having paid my account, they still send me SMS's and emails reporting that I still owe them that amount. How do these people manage to hold down their jobs ?

Today I went to Ampath Witfield Lab to draw blood for INR. I haven’t received the results and there’s no information on their app showing that I went to the lab today. What could be the reason for this? ID number 6610310462080
