Poor after-sales service
To be clear: the jacket itself is fantastic quality, but the after-sales service, communication, hidden exchange costs, and handling of this refund process have been extremely disappointing for a premium-priced product. I’m extremely disappointed with the way my exchange/refund process has been handled by Duck Apparel. I purchased a parka for R3599 on 21 April. After receiving it, I requested an exchange for a bigger size. I understood that I would be responsible for the courier cost to return the original jacket. However, what was never properly made clear upfront is that customers are also expected to pay an additional R150 delivery fee for the replacement jacket, which you need to do before your exchange is logged. So in total, I paid an additional R350 (courier and delivery), on top of an already premium-priced jacket. Because of these unexpected costs, I decided to cancel the exchange and requested a refund before the replacement jacket had even been collected or dispatched. Unfortunately, this was apparently not processed in time, because the replacement jacket was still delivered to me on 6 May. I immediately informed Duck Apparel and was told they would arrange a courier collection. A collection was scheduled for 14 May, and I waited the entire day for the courier, but nobody arrived. I then followed up twice via email and initially received no response. I eventually sent another detailed email explaining the situation again and even offered to keep the replacement jacket if I could simply repay the R150 delivery fee. The response I received was extremely frustrating. I was told the order had been cancelled and I therefore could not keep it, that courier costs were my responsibility, and that the R150 refund was supposedly a “gesture of goodwill.” At this stage, I still had not received any refund whatsoever for the original jacket. I once again explained the full situation, attached all previous email correspondence as proof, and only then did they agree to arrange another courier. After further delays and more follow-ups from my side, a courier finally arrived to collect the jacket on 26 May — with notice only on the day of collection. The jacket has now finally been collected, and I am waiting for confirmation that it has been received and for my refund to be processed. Unfortunately, this entire experience has left a bad impression on me. I have always wanted one of their jackets, but after this process, I honestly think I can do without it.

3 YEARS TO CHANGE DETAILS
One star because you can't give zero. I was divorced at the end of 2022 and I requested a change of surname in 2023, filled out the relevant forms, with my financial adviser, and sent all the related documentation. It is now 2026 and STILL my details haven't been updated. I asked for this to be done again, they said they can't do it without the form, where's the form I sent before? I then sent them the form with the investment numbers and the changes that needed to be made (title, surname, number, address). I received a response yesterday after having to follow up with them, yet again, saying my address had been changed. No feedback on anything else. Today I get my statements and only the address has been changed on ONE investment. Everything else is still the same. I cannot believe I've been asking for this for almost 3 years and you still haven't got it right.

FNB BUILDING INSURANCE - NO SENSE OF URGENCY!
My geyser burst last week Wednesday, 6 August. I then called FNB who I, unfortunately, have building insurance with. They gave me a reference number and advised the plumbers would be out that day to assess and they arrived and assessed and sent out the quote the following day. I have now been without hot water since then, with no response to my emails from FNB or the CLC 3rd parties. When I tried to call and also used the secure chat, it just gets referred from one person to the next and nobody can seem to help me. How does everyone else seem to have 24 hour turnaround time for a burst geyser, but not FNB. Couldn't be bothered. All you get are automated responses which state that your query will be responded to 'soonest' but no word from anyone. Regards, Christine

Bad service
Worst service ever and no responses from anyone. Approved claim on 27 January, and only today after being on hold for 15min, they tell me there's an issue with the panelbeaters system so they weren't getting updates on claims out through. This is after many emails and complaints asking for an update.

If it's with Vumatel, just avoid it completely
Can't say I've had the best experience with Vumatel. Slow response, you can only contact them through your ISP otherwise they don't really care or they give vague answers so you don't actually have any clue what's going on. Fibre has been down since 4pm yesterday, no comms from the ISP's or from Vuma to notify customers or give them updates, we must all just sit there twiddling our thumbs and getting the same vague feedback from the ISP's. People work from home and they can update their Facebook page with lots of things to sign up for but can't even post a comms on the outage and progress. I hope I never have to deal with Vuma after the end of January when I move out.

Worldwide worst courier service
WOW! The absolute worst courier service in the country, possibly Worldwide. It seems they like to do the 'Failed Delivery Attempt' thing with all customers because apparently they tried to deliver and failed but I was home all day and there was no delivery and nobody tried to call me to say they're trying to deliver anything and I specifically state on all my delivery orders how to dial my apartment on the intercom or to call me on my cellphone when they're delivering. Called them today to query this failed delivery and they say they'll definitely deliver today. Now it's almost 15:30 and no sign of the delivery and customer support is equally useless. I have an appointment at 4pm and I have wasted 2 days now waiting for this delivery.

Terrible customer service and no feedback from anyone.
Worst customer service ever. They don't forget to call and email on time to get you to sign up for a loan. Once you have it, good luck trying to get hold of anyone to get your loan documentation, never mind a settlement amount. The customer service email and complaints email and the loan email addresses all don't seem to work because nobody has responded, to date. Call centre agents all sound like they're working in a cave, the line is so bad. When I say I've emailed and had no response, the line went silent and the agent said, well that's the email address. Thanks for nothing. The loan amount on my banking profile vs the one in my agreement are 2 completely different amounts and I'm asking for an explanation and the response makes no sense either. If you're reading this and considering a loan from DirectAxis, please don't. Rather sell a kidney.

Don't go to a Randburg Thrifty...ever
Randburg Thrifty is the worst branch I have ever been to. Please take a page out of the Cape Town Greenpoint branch and see how customers should be treated and how smoothly the process works there. Where on their website does it say that the person driving the car must be the person paying for the booking and deposit? Your agent wouldn't accept the credit card I used for the booking for my husband. She made me change the booking to my name and charged me an additional R430 to add him as a driver! This makes no sense to me. If my company is booking a car for me, do they have to pay an additional fee so I can drive it if my details are filled in on the original booking? My husband does not even have a credit card and that's why the booking deposit and payment was done using my credit card, as per the website. And please tell your staff to be less rude.
