Based on recent customer reviews, Markhams shows a sharply divided customer experience. Pockets of exceptional staff service stand out at specific branches, but the broader picture reflects persistent frustrations around returns, faulty cellphones, lay-by handling, billing surprises and account management. Customers consistently praise named consultants while criticising managers and supervisors for dismissive attitudes, weak product knowledge, and a reluctance to honour consumer rights.

I went to Markhams mall of Africa yesterday to try and pay for my account, little did k know I will receive bad service from a gentleman over the over counter so as the store manager! I gave them my ID card but I was told that I don’t have an account with TFG, comes to a shock because I recently used my account to purchase at the very same store. If people don’t want to work in retail they must say so, I understand retail is hectic but that level of cold treatment is uncalled for I’m cancelling my account immediately

I have had 3 bad experiences from the Markham agents call centers. They call and activate insurances that are not approved or discussed with them. They have deducted fees for Deathins, disabilityins and Retrenchins I am really disgusted by this behavior. They even call us constantly even at work

I recently opened an account with Markhams online and I received my card at Markhams Tubatse Crossing as I was informed to get the card at the nearest store. I was helped by a lady named Daphney who refused to give my card telling me, that "I must buy an item at their store to activate the card". I refused to buy an item as I was not planning to buy anything on the day. She then called a guy called Prince who deals with accounts, and he also told me the same story, trying to corner me into buying any item I didn't want. I think Markhams should do a better job in training their stuff, not to mislead customers into buying things that they do not desire to buy. The reason I opened the account is for me to use it at my convenient time and not to be harassed into buying. I'm very disappointed.
