Misinformation and harassment

I recently opened an account with Markhams online and I received my card at Markhams Tubatse Crossing as I was informed to get the card at the nearest store. I was helped by a lady named Daphney who refused to give my card telling me, that "I must buy an item at their store to activate the card". I refused to buy an item as I was not planning to buy anything on the day. She then called a guy called Prince who deals with accounts, and he also told me the same story, trying to corner me into buying any item I didn't want.

I think Markhams should do a better job in training their stuff, not to mislead customers into buying things that they do not desire to buy. The reason I opened the account is for me to use it at my convenient time and not to be harassed into buying. I'm very disappointed.
