I am very disappointed with the service from MacRobert Attorneys. I made a payment on the 11th of March, yet I continue to receive SMS notifications stating that I still owe them. I contacted their office and was asked to email proof of payment, which I did — but I never received any response. After continuing to receive the same SMS notifications, I called again. I was then told that the email address I had sent my proof to belongs to a trainee, and that I would be provided with a new email address to resend my documents. To date, I am still waiting for that email. It is extremely frustrating that I have to keep following up on an issue that should have been resolved already. The lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable. This experience has been very unprofessional.

Good day, I trust you are well. My husband has recently discovered that a judgment has been loaded against his profile without any prior notification from MacRobert Attorneys. This has come as a shock, as he has been actively complying with the payment arrangement since the summons was served in 2024. To date: • He has paid the agreed monthly instalments consistently, • He has increased the instalments whenever requested, and • We have attached proof of all payments made to demonstrate his compliance. • Unfortunately, during 2019–2023 we experienced a family crisis which temporarily strained our finances and affected our credit profile. However, we have been working diligently to rectify this, and my husband has continued paying his instalments without fail. It is therefore extremely concerning that a judgment was obtained without any further communication, warning, or notice from MacRobert Attorneys. Furthermore, according to the National Credit Regulator (NCR) guidelines regarding judgment validity: A summons must not have been served more than six months prior to the application for judgment. Given that the summons was served in 2024, it appears that this requirement has not been met. We kindly request clarification on the following: 1. On what basis the judgment was granted despite ongoing payments and no communication about non compliance, 2. Why no notice of intention to apply for judgment was issued, and 3. What steps we can take to have this judgment rescinded, as we believe it was granted improperly. 4. We spoke to Mirriam from Macroberts who advised that she has no clue why this happened, so a judgement gets passed on my husband’s record and he can’t apply for employment or anything else. 5. MacRoberts blames ABSA-how can this be accepted- How can ABSA and MacRoberts claim to uphold their values and still treat someone this way, especially when we have been paying the agreed monthly amounts? Yes, we went through a difficult financial period, but we have worked hard to correct the situation. It has been a long and painful struggle, and it is disheartening that this is the outcome. 6. I am sure, ABSA, “ our story matters” 7. Can you live up to your brand and values of courage, stewardship and trust and can Macroberts live up to their values of TRIP-where is the integrity and respect to just pass a judgement on someone and jeopardise someone’s life like this We would appreciate your urgent assistance, as this matter has severe implications for our financial standing, despite our consistent efforts to meet all obligations. We look forward to your guidance on the rescission process.

I am extremely frustrated with the handling of my vehicle finance account by Standard Bank Vehicle & Asset Finance and MacRoberts Attorneys. For the past six months, I have paid every instalment on time and according to the premium shown on my Standard Bank banking app. Despite this, on 23 March 2026, I received an SMS claiming I am in arrears by R7,476.34 for the January 2026 instalment. My account still seems to be listed with the collections agencies, and it is clear that no reconciliation has been done between Standard Bank and MacRoberts Attorneys. This lack of internal coordination is now damaging my credit profile, even though I have met all my payment obligations. I urgently request: A full reconciliation of my account Confirmation that all payments have been correctly allocated Immediate removal of any incorrect arrears flags Correction of any negative credit bureau reporting caused by this error Confirmation that my account is no longer listed with collections This issue has caused unnecessary stress and unfair harm to my credit standing. I expect urgent assistance and a prompt resolution from Standard Bank and MacRoberts Attorneys.

Unprofessional company wanting to ****** money alongside standard bank who is harassing clients to make payments which have already been made and insisting these payments are in arrears! I have sent through proof of payments almost a week ago to be allocated, I have continued to follow up with Standard bank, iv had no response! I have a reference number! The attorneys act in such a way to treat clients like ********s yet it was negligence on standard bank to not update the records and hand over accounts to this company who send emails for clients to pay up the entire vehicle amount not just the installment!! This is not the first time I have had a problem with this company and standard bank! They do not check their records but just harass clients for money that has already been paid!

I am utterly disappointed in the service received by MacRoberts Attorneys. After not working for 3 years…not having an income, all my accounts were in arrears and of course handed over to multiple lawyers. I sold so many of my assets and finally when I managed to secure a job, I wanted to make things right and sort out my credit record. MacRoberts attorneys gave me a discount to settle my AVAF account with absa. I was specifically told that I would make payments from August 2025 till December 2025. I kept calling to make all is in order. December 1st was the last payment and it was confirmed that a paid-up letter would be issued. I waited and waited. Then all of a sudden, December 29th I got debited again. I tried to reverse the debit order, but because it was debicheck, I failed. I called MacRoberts attorneys…I emailed and was assured I’d get a refund. Now I call again and am told that I was missing another payment…but how when on December 1st I was told that that was the last one? Sad to say…I did not receive any refund…I’m struggling to cancel the debicheck and I’ve asked multiple times for it to be cancelled. I still haven’t received my paid-up letter. I feel absolutely betrayed but these attorneys and ABSA as they are preying on the weak just trying to sort out their debts and get their lives back on track. May I never get myself in any situation to EVER require help from MacRoberts attorneys

They employ bullying and ************ tactics, threatening you with summons and judgments even though you are in constant contact with them. Shocking abysmal disgusting behaviour from attorneys contracted by Standard Bank. Caroline Jacobs in particular should learn the contents of the debt collectors act and not employ these questionable tactics. I will notify Standard Bank of how unprofessional their choice of attorneys as well as the council, banking regulator and ombud / banking practise. Disgusting .
