I am extremely frustrated with SA Home Loans and the lack of communication throughout this process. We have been waiting for over a month for guarantees to be issued so that the property transfer can proceed. SAHL has already released the transfer assist funds, and the first debit order even went off yesterday, yet we are still waiting for guarantees. Based on discussions with the attorneys earlier in May, we were advised to give notice at our rental property because the transfer would hopefully be completed by the end of May, or alternatively early occupation would be granted. Unfortunately, because SAHL has still not provided “proceeds to lodge” since April, the transfer attorneys will not allow early occupation without guarantees being issued. As a result, I am now in a terrible situation where I have no place to move into at the end of May because my landlord has already secured a new tenant and I cannot reverse my notice to vacate. What makes this even more frustrating is the lack of updates and accountability. Every time I call, I am transferred from one consultant to another. My original consultant says the matter is now “out of her department,” yet nobody provides clear feedback or timelines. We submitted all requested documents long ago, but communication has been extremely poor. This entire experience has been stressful, emotionally exhausting, and deeply disappointing.

Refusing to update the ITC record. The amount was debited from my bank account for the April payment which successfully went through and that has been confirmed with the loan statement that I received from them. I have been asking them to please update the ITC records as it is reflecting that the last payment was in March. Their agent has refused to accept this mistake on their part and kept on telling me that the payment only cleared on the 1st of May on their side. The fact remains that the monthly instalment was paid therefore the records should be updated to true reflection without a fight. So they are just happy with damaging ITC score for their customers, what a worse business practice!!!

I have experienced worse terrible service with SA home loan. My bond became on arrears after the interest rates went up, then I sent and email requested that rework my contract by adding 2 months to cover my arrears, they agreed and also sent me email. After that my bond is being paid in advance but now when I need to redraw they are telling me that there no money for redraw. They are failing to explain where was my going to because I have been paying more extra on my bond. This Lindokuhle consultant was not helpful on my issue even though I tried to explain to him. They gave worse terrible service ever, and wasted my airtime on the phone for over 30 minutes. I need to redraw my advance because I have been paying more extra, my bond is R6100 and I am paying R6700. But they have guts to tell me that there's nothing on my redraw. Worse service, if they don't solve my situation, I am going to switch to another bank for my bond.

I do not understand how my credit profile does not meet the minimum criteria when my credit score is favourable and I have not missed any payments on my accounts. I have maintained my financial commitments responsibly, which makes this decision very concerning. I would appreciate transparency regarding what exactly affected the assessment, as the feedback provided is very vague. It is frustrating to be declined without a proper explanation despite having a clean payment history. I also find it unfair that I now have to wait another 3 months to reapply without understanding what needs to be improved. Kindly provide a detailed explanation of the factors that resulted in the decline.

I am absolutely appalled by the service—or lack thereof—from SA Home Loans. We made a clear, formal written arrangement with SAHL that our loan installment would not be debited this month. Despite this written confirmation, they proceeded to deduct the full amount from my Capitec account anyway. When I called to rectify this, the consultants were completely unhelpful. They acknowledged the arrangement but refused to process an immediate refund, claiming the funds "haven't reflected" on their side yet and that I must wait 3-7 working days once they do. This is an unauthorised deduction and a blatant breach of our agreement. This "system error" has left our bank account depleted, making it impossible to pay other essential debits due today. I have been told I basically have to "just wait" while my other bills bounce and I incur bank fees. I demand an immediate manual EFT (Real-Time Clearing) of my funds today. I will be lodging a formal complaint with the National Financial Ombud (NFO) and the National Credit Regulator (NCR) for unfair collection practices and breach of contract. SA Home Loans, fix your mistake immediately. This is not how you treat loyal clients.
