Customers consistently mention poor communication, unfulfilled delivery promises, and rude or dismissive staff and managers. A recurring theme is difficulty with returns, refunds, and accountability for faulty products such as mislabelled paint, breaking roof tiles, and incorrectly cut materials. My review is about specifically Buco Middelburg. I placed an order for Coprox waterproofing with them in March. This order needs to be paid before they place the external order. On 8 April I phoned and canceled the order and it was accepted and I was able to get a full refund because the product was not yet shipped from the Warehouse. I requested my refund about 4 times and then finally received an email with the document I need to complete for the refund. I completed it and sent it through. The next day I got a call from a very rude lady telling me I need to send her my full bank statement to show where the money went out of my account because the proof of payment where my account nr is shown is not enough. The products was bought out of a trust account and new products had to be bought out of a different account to finish the job while we waited for the products from Buco to be reimbursed. I wanted the money to be paid directly into the account that had to make do while we waited endlessly for Buco's reimbur*****t. I did not and still don't feel comfortable with sharing my whole trust bank statement with BUCO this goes against the POPI act and so much more. But if I want a refund this is the only option. I have submitted it and still have not received my reimbur*****t its been more than a month now. Buco Middelburg definitely needs better systems and structures.

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service received from Buco in Montague Gardens, specifically regarding their delivery service. We were promised that our order would be delivered today. Based on this assurance, we arranged for installers to be on-site to fit the cupboards. These installers are charging us per hour, and we made these arrangements in good faith, trusting that the delivery would take place as agreed. However, after not receiving any update, we contacted Buco to follow up. We were then informed that the delivery would not be happening today. This was never communicated to us in advance. To make matters worse, the staff we spoke to were extremely rude and showed no regard for the inconvenience and financial impact this has caused us. As a result, we are now incurring unnecessary costs while our installers sit idle, due to Buka’s failure to deliver on their promise and lack of communication. This level of service is completely unacceptable. We expect accountability and an urgent resolution to this matter.

Have gone to the BUCO Honeydew store a couple of times and have had poor customer service experience every time. I was willing to accept that the BUCO staff was very busy, and therefore the way that they treated us. However, when the manager of the store displays the same attitude, it makes me wonder if there is actually any understanding of customer experience. We will never go back to this store and simply will go to other hardware stores rather than having to endure this type of behaviour.

About two weeks ago I posted a web enquiry for items that I needed for a project, I have had zero response. Yesterday, I called for pricing and availability on a range of products, the "Department"was busy and so I left a message expecting a call back - again zero response. Today, I have tried to escalate my requests but no human answers the calls.

We have been building a new home. We had all the cupboards cut, with all the dimensions, 100% correct, given to Buco Nelspruit, to be cut to spec, to find out that they mixed our order up with someone else's. Buco have been made aware of this too. The inconvenience of 30km of travel up and down to get this mess fixed, over again, with no compensation, is at best annoying. This comes with obvious lack of supervision when the project is handed down to the "carpenter" "cutter" whatever you want to call the person/s who are supposed to cut the wood pieces, to exactly what the client ordered! Guys, all I can say is, get your ducks in a row and do it right the first time please, and supervise your staff.

Hi all Might I say how disappointed and disgusted I am in this company for having a terrible supplier like markley Roofing supplying them with materials. I am a contractor and have experience in construction for 15 years. Anyway I started a project building a double storey building in randburg Ambassador park complex. I purchased roof tiles for R21,000 or round it off to R22,000 last year December 2025. They only had a certain amount of tiles at there Store BUCO so they had to order more from there supplier MARLEY. The tiles took 2 weeks to get delivered to site. My team put the roof tiles. We then realised we were short of tiles as per the clients instruction, buy 790 and will see if we run short you can go and get more. I went to the shop and bought, this time I got it the next day delivered to site. When my team jumped on the roof to put the tiles on the roof tiles just started breaking soon as you walk on the roof. Not all of them broke but many. When I got to site my team had advised me of the situation so I took one roof tile and punched it with my fist and surprisingly It broke. I then went to the store BUCO to purchase 250 more and it came up to R5,000 or R6,000. My client called the manager GAVIN VORSTER. He then asked me for pictures and email. He CC me in the mail. They responded with a site visit only on the 23/01/2026 and when they came they sent a female lady (VELMA MATHEKGANA) that gave an assessment without even jumping on the roof. GAVIN VORSTER advised me that he had a couple of complaints as well relating to this issues regarding these roof tiles that Marley supplys them with. THE EMAIL SENT TO ME HANK AS THE CONTRACTOR WHO MADE THE COMPLAINT : Good day Kindly find attached Lab test results and attached photos. Please check photo 9.1 regarding the installation where it clearly shows that the line is not straight and it is affecting the whole area , hence experiencing breakages. Kind regards Velma Mathekgana Sales Representative How can they make that assumption or decide that when there rep. VELMA MATHEKGANA did not even jump on the roof to see the structure. Honestly this is pathetic service. I expect to get some answers and I feel they should reimburse me for my team lost, my fuel running to shops, and the material and labour I had to put it. I give a 5 year warranty on my work and if something happens and those tiles break I will have to replace them and then should I go to BUCO to let them know about this they will give me issues as they would say it's been long etc. PLEASE ATTEND TO MY COMPLAINT ?
