On 19 April I ordered two items from the RS South Africa website. The site indicated that both items were in stock. On 20 April I received an e-mail to advise that one item had been dispatched. However, the RS website indicated that it has not been dispatched. When I called the RS call centre in SA I was informed that both items are on order from overseas. Furthermore, the second item, which contains magnets, is considered dangerous cargo and will be sent by sea freight, taking weeks, if not months. RS Components are deceiving and misleading clients on purpose to secure sales. Their service is also pathetic. I was cut off twice while trying to contact them to find out where my order is.

RS COMPONENTS Are Dishonest & Unprofessional – Buyers, Be Very Wary Before Placing Orders With This Company. We placed a large-volume order (Order #3012683289) on 4 August. The system confirmed 52 units in stock with delivery due 20 August. We followed up daily, and the system showed the full delivery of 52 units was actually ahead of schedule and had been dispatched on 11 August (see attached confirmation from RS Components system). Just before 17h00 on 12 August — the day before dispatch, after informing our customer the goods would arrive shortly — we received a call from Ntombi Mgcina informing us there was insufficient stock. This sudden reversal, after confirmation and payment, has caused significant disruption and is unacceptable business conduct.

The Service is terrible , i placed an order online that showed in stock ,however i only received a partial shipment of this order . However after almost three weeks of waiting i followed up only to find out the order was not really placed yet they "held" the money from my account. I have yet to receive feedback on what's going on this. this is terrible and shocking service that customers must follow up.

Just stay away! Service that used to be excellent has just gone to the dogs. Don't know if they have a new manager or what. I ordered an item that showed in stock, for next day delivery. Paid a huge sum for this as well. It was supposed to be delivered on 25 September as confirmed on the order. It never got here. The order was only processed today after I started complaining. Now they tell me I have to wait 4 months while they row this item across the sea from the UK. They refuse to cancel it even before they processed it! Absolutely disgusting! Order 197037417

Customer support here is pathetic; I had a long list of components for a project prototype. I emailed rs components and also https://au.element14.com/. After a day or so, Element14 returned a list of components they could supply; I telephoned rs components, which were full of excuses and told me they would do this immediately. For one, I could hardly understand their customer support personnel who need to pronounciate English far better, and secondly, stop telling lies. I still have not received the list back or any questions as expected because the guy I spoke to was a completely lying idiot. RS COMPONENTS, you need to sort this out as it takes years to build a reputation yet seconds to tear it down. I'm hoping this will get a response from someone; if not, I'll have to post this on every review site and forum I can find.
