I am sitting at the breakers resort in Umhlanga, and we have no air conditioning. I have been told we may or may not be getting it fixed tomorrow the 27 February 2025. They will only probably be able to tell us tomorrow. I don't know what is happening with service in this country. Sunday we also never had any air conditioning. :-(
The city of Johannesburg does not send its meter readers out for a number of months and then takes the readings for the months the meter was not read and puts the consumption into one billing cycle. This results in the sliding scale for consumption being completely distorted in favor of the municipality. My water meter was not read for 4 months and my account that should have been around R3800.00 was R7485.00. The same is being done with electricity. As far as I am concerned, this is *****ing, and I wonder if it is even legal.
Standard Bank in the Mall Rosebank should be avoided at all costs. I waited in a queue for an hour and nearly forty minutes just to FICA my account. While I was there, one of the staff actually laughed at a 71 year old lady for complaining.
Yesterday I had the most unfortunate experience of having to take someone to Sunninghill clinic casualty. While the paramedics admitted my nephew and his cousin to casualty, my brother, his sister in-law and myself went around to the front of the hospital to go inside and fill forms and wait. The staff at the entrance were rude and grumpy and would not allow us into the hospital not even to go to the toilet. I was directed to a portable toilet in the car park, The toilet was very smelly and had no toilet paper. After my brother and his sister in-law filled in the forms inside the hospital, they made us sit outside in the rain outside the emergency entrance to the casualty where we were in the way of the paramedics. There was very little shelter from the rain. We waited there for about three and a half hours. Not once did anyone come outside to let us know what was happening. We tried once again to go inside to find out what was happening and to get out of the rain. There was a new person at the door who was even more rude and condescending. We were still not allowed inside. I will never go back to Sunninghill if I can possibly help it and I will recommend the same to everyone I know. I cannot believe that businesses in South Africa can get away with dealing with paying clients this way let alone business in the health sector were clients are suffering some type of trauma and the purpose of the business is to be supportive and helpful.
I am very displeased with Discovery. THis is the second time I am putting in a claim with them and this is the second time that I have to fight for it. I am seriously thinking of taking my R147000.00 of business elsewhere. I have been waiting for more than a week for them to approve around R15000.00 worth of pothole damage on my car. I submitted a claim on the On the 11th of December. I called them to ask them to escalate the call on the 18th of December and was told a manager would call me back. I still have not heard from them. I really feel that they are not really interested in me as a client. VERY DISAPPOINTING. I am a diamond member and have been doing business with discovery since 2001.
Bought blue tooth headset for about R1500.00. Within a month the device would not charge and Body Glove would not repair or replace them. I will think twice before purchasing from this brand.
I bought a R1500.00 BodyGlove bluetooth headphones. Less than a month after a bought it the USB charge port broke. I have been waiting for two weeks to get this resolved and yesterday the store manager of Musica Rodebank told me to call the customer care center. I am still waiting for the area manager to get back to me. Congratulations Musica, You are part of the reason the South African economy is in the state it is in. Shocking service. I will never do business with Musica again. Next stop consumer counsel.
Once again, I am disappointed by Standard Bank. This month I had a cashflow flow problem and was short R10 000, the first time. I phoned Standard bank to let them know and was offered an increase in my overdraft. I went through the process and approved for the increase with one catch. The would only increase my overdraft if they increased the interest on my entire overdraft amount by 3%. Talk about kicking a person when they are down. What makes matters worse is that I am supposed to be a prestige account holder and I know some one that has a overdraft that is 30% more than mine and they have the same interest as my original interest. Way to go Standard Bank. How to retain loyal customers.
I went into Rosebank branch to open an account so that I could have my UCount point transferred to the account. While I was in the branch, two employees were rude to me. I have subsequently found out that the account that was opened for me was the incorrect account. I phoned the client services and they told me that the person that had helped me would phone me the next day. This did not happen. When I phoned my “prestige banker” I was told that the person had tried to phone me but had used the incorrect number. When I asked the prestige banker what she could do to help me resolve the problem she said that she could not do anything for me but ask the original person to call me on the right number. (Is prestige banker a fancy name for the general help desk?). I still do not have the right account and I do not have the time to go into the branch to resolve this. WHAT NEXT????????
When I signed a contract with Vodacom insurance, I insured the phone that I received with the contract, I asked them for insurance that would replace the phone with the same phone in the event of me losing my phone. The insurance was for a phone up to R7000.00 with 15% excess. The phone was a Nokia Lumnia 825. My phone was stolen. It has been replaced by a Huawei P8 lite. When I went online to check the price of the Huawei P8 lite, I found that I could buy one for about R3900.00. ( [URL Removed] ). That I received a phone to the value of R3900.00 when I was insured up to R7000.00 looks very wrong to me. It could even look fraudulent. I have been dealing with the manager at Hyde Park. He cannot do anything more for me. I would like someone from Vodacom to give me a call and explain how the Huawei P8 lite can even be compared with the Nokia Lumnia 825. I feel as if I have been ripped off about R3000.00.
