KARCHER

Complaint regarding Karcher DVAC 1500 Product Quality and Service
I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction and disappointment regarding both the quality of the Karcher DVAC 1500 vacuum cleaner as well as the manner in which this matter has been handled. I purchased the vacuum cleaner from Builders Warehouse on 18 March 2026 with the expectation that I was investing in a reliable and reputable product. Unfortunately, after only three weeks of normal household use, the machine stopped functioning completely. Considering the reputation associated with the Karcher brand, this failure within such a short period is entirely unacceptable. I returned the unit to Builders Warehouse on 14 April 2026 in the hope that the matter would be resolved efficiently. Instead, I was informed that the store only offers a 7-day return policy and that the machine would need to be sent to Karcher for repairs. What followed thereafter was equally disappointing. When I followed up on 24 April 2026, I was informed that the vacuum cleaner had still not been sent to Karcher for repairs, despite already being in the possession of Builders Warehouse for more than a week. I was then required to make several additional follow-ups before eventually receiving the machine back on 7 May 2026. However, the frustration did not end there. Upon opening the packaging and testing the machine on 9 May 2026, I discovered that essential components were missing, including the suction hose, one suction pipe, and the dust bag. It is extremely concerning that a repaired product could be returned to a customer in such an incomplete and careless condition. This entire experience has left me deeply disappointed in the Karcher brand. Over time, we intentionally started purchasing Karcher products for our household equipment needs, including vacuum cleaners and pressure washers, because we trusted the brand’s reputation for quality and reliability. Unfortunately, this experience has seriously damaged that confidence. To summarise, the product failed after only three weeks of use, the repair process took an additional three weeks, communication and service were poor throughout, and the machine was ultimately returned incomplete. As a customer, it is extremely frustrating to now face the possibility of waiting even longer for the missing parts to be supp****. I sincerely hope that this matter will receive urgent attention and that an appropriate resolution will be provided without any further delays.

Agmarket
I looked for a part that is not readily available and actually could not find a supplier or retailer that was carrying this part. I send a request to Agmarket (online seller) and Mr Japie De Klerk who is the MD of the company contacted me. I send him a photo of the part that I was looking for and he immediately started contacting his suppliers to find the part. Within a couple of days he notified me that he managed to find the part whilst continuously keeping me in the loop and sending information to me of the progress. This was absolutely excellent service, he really went out of his way to assist and arrange the sourcing of this part. I would strongly recommend Agmarket, here's their website. www.agmarket.co.za Really Worth shopping with them. Thanks Mr De Klerk, well done!!

No Stock
It is now two months that I am trying to obtain a contract for a Samsung S7 tablet. Every month it is advertised in the MTN Yello Trader and everytime you call a MTN branch they never have stock. Why do you send out the advert if you do not have stock? I am phoning the local MTN store in Bothaville frequently for any news on stock levels and they also request stock levels from other MTN stores but there are never stock. Can MTN please take all the adverts for tablets out of the Yello trader since you do not have any stock.

Ryobi - Bad product
I Purchased a Ryobi Air Compressor on 04/08/2021. I could not assemble the product immediately and only had time during last week to assemble and use the product. With the first time using it oil was streaming out of the small motor. I took the product back to Builders Warehouse to exchange it for another. I spoke to the sales manager at the Klerksdorp branch. He informed me that they had to send it in for repairs and that it will take more than 10 business days. I told him that I only used it once and he insisted that it is policy and that they are acting upon the consumers act and that it would be unlawful for them to exchange the product due to the fact that Ryobi does not allow them to exchange after seven days. He mentioned to me that due to the fact that the air compressor is a powertool, Builders Warehouse have a policy of exchange within 7 days of purchase. The sign at their returns counter have some wording missing (must be old I guess) but there it mentions the 7 day return policy. I further informed him that nobody mentioned the 7 day policy to me when I purchased the product and then referred me to the back of my slip for Returns/Refund policy. The Returns/Refund policy on the back of the slip stipulate that within 6 months of purchase, they will gladly repair, replace or refund any materially defective product. And then to Ryobi: If this is the kind of product you want to sell to the consumer, I will definitely not trust any Ryobi product or be loyal to this brand anymore.

Vodacom - Poor Service
I recently received a phonecall from Vodacom telling me that my contracts are due for upgrade. I really was thinking, wow great service. THAT is where it is ending. They explained the package to me and with the start of the new month no airtime was loaded as per the contract. I tried to phone them, no answer. Then I tried to chat online with them, online chat is just ended before a consultant even speaks to you. Then I tried Mobi (the "robot") and also no success. Then I phone the customer service department and made the selection to cancellations. Somebody picked up and I could actually speak to someone. They mentioned to me that they will put me through to the correct department and even gave me a direct number. I asked them to please transfer my call to someone who I can speak to and not all these selections that I need to make. Well, they did transfer me, but the selections again and no answer. What do we need to do in order to sort out a query with Vodacom????

Too much hassle
I opened a Business Call Account that is linked to my Business Account. When I wanted to transfer money into the account I received an error message that the account is frozen. This is 10 minutes after opening the account. I contacted FNB and the person I spoke to was so incompetent, I had to repeat the bank account number to her at least 7 times before she had it right. She mentioned that there is first a form that I need to complete in order to rectify the problem, so I told her to cancel the Business Call Account, sound like too much hassle and I was informed that she cannot close the account, a form must first be completed.

Standard Bank Home Loan Query disaster
I contacted Standard Bank Homeloans regarding our homeloan and settlement. I spoke to 9 people after about 2 hours on the phone and I am still running around in circles. Everyone tells me I should speak to another department and my story is the same to each one. After explaining my request the person mentions to me that I should speak to another department, they cannot assist me. Standard Bank also mentioned to me that the only way I can get in contact with their homeloan department is via callcentre and that my nearest Standard Bank Branch would not be able to assist me. I spoke to Nkuoueoko, Mosinosi, Mohao, Thabo, Lorenco, Phakiso, Nobuthle, Melofa and lastly to Serbie. It is VERY VERY VERY sad that not one of these employees of Standardbank could assist me. I have going around in circles, no I should speak to their homeloan department, no I should speak to their Credit Department, no I should speak to their Sales Department, no I should actually speak to their homeloan department. What a huge circus, this is absolutely terrible to see how service delivery is going down the drain in South Africa. Standard Bank, I am very disappointed.
