Stevens & Co
Based on recent customer reviews, Stevens & Co receives polarised feedback centred on Ryobi product servicing and warranty handling. A recurring theme is frustration with repair quality, parts availability for discontinued models, and generators or mowers failing shortly after purchase. However, customers consistently praise the Service Manager Eric, whose professionalism, diplomacy, and willingness to resolve disputes have turned negative experiences into positive outcomes. Branch staff at Midrand and Umhlanga are also commended for respectful, helpful in-store service, suggesting strong individual service recovery despite underlying product and repair concerns.

I recently contacted this company in search of Ryobi parts. The person that helped me, Erick Bezuidenhout, really 'walked the extra mile' to help me. He was very efficient and helpful, rare qualities in business today. His company can be very glad to have him working for them.

On Saturday 10 January 2026 I went to Ryobi Midrand for a blade and throttle cable for my lawnmower. I also needed parts for my chainsaw. Both these unit are less than 3 years old. All my power tools are Ryobi. I have been attending the annual yard sale for the last 5 years. To my shock I was told by the salesman that they do not have parts for my units as they have been discontinued. I now sit with machines which I cannot maintain. From the six parts I needed, I walked away with a generic throttle cable unit. Must I continue to support Ryobi, or do I now change my brand of power tools? If the salesman offered to assist in finding the parts for me, I would consider staying loyal to the brand. My lawnmower is a RM125P so if that is a mower you own you will not find parts at Ryobi as it is discontinued. My chainsaw is a CS38-35 with the same story.

We bought a brand new Ryobi generator which broke withing 15 days. We took it to Steven's & Co under the warranty. They called us and claimed we had to pay R1500 to fix the generator. We argued that it is still under warranty and will not pay. We end up paying for new oil and the spark plug, which I still feel is unfair. Now 5 months later the generator is broken again. I shutter to think I must-have it back to them. Why does a brand new machine, not even 5 months old cease pistons in 14 days, and break again in 4 months? I would not recommend anybody to buy Ryobi products or service them here.

I previously wrote a negative review about Stevens & co about the generator I bought from them, and the drive and inconvenience I experienced understanding that machines are just that machines, they break any time. I am writing to give a big ups to the company and specifically the manager Eric a very plasent guy. Thank you, for turning a bad situation to the best one. My machine was replaced

This review is as a result of the way my issue was handled by the Service Manager of Stevens & Company - Eric - Ryobi Products. Your graciousness and professionalism alone are worth 5 stars. Thank you for resolving this issue and thank you for your honesty. You could give classes on diplomacy.

I bought this machine generator from this company, on the 15th April 2025, before the machine can do even 15 hour for service the machine is giving problems. I took the machine in the company for the machine to be checked, after machine was checked I was told the machine was ok, I drove over 100kms on arrival the machine is giving same problems. I don't understand this about this company.
