Good day. After numerous attempts to get feedback from the electricity department of Uitenhage I have received no response. Attached are the email thread. Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to follow up once again on my previous communications regarding the non-functioning street lights in Scheepershoogte. Despite multiple emails sent and this matter being forwarded to the relevant department, I have yet to receive any acknowledgement, feedback, or indication of when this issue will be addressed. It is deeply concerning that a matter affecting public safety has gone unattended for such an extended period. As previously stated, the street lights have been out of service for approximately two years. This ongoing situation continues to place residents at risk and significantly impacts the safety, security, and daily lives of the community. At this stage, I respectfully request urgent intervention and a clear response outlining: - Confirmation that this issue is being attended to - The reasons for the prolonged delay in response - A definitive timeline for repairs or resolution Should there be no response to this communication, I will have no option but to escalate this matter further to higher authorities. I trust that this issue will now receive the urgent attention it requires and look forward to your prompt response. I am writing to formally raise a serious concern regarding the street lights in Scheepershoogte, which have not been functioning for approximately the past two years. This ongoing issue has created significant challenges for residents and has greatly impacted the safety and well-being of the community. The lack of proper lighting at night increases the risk of crime, accidents, and general insecurity for both pedestrians and motorists. Residents are forced to navigate completely dark streets, which is not only inconvenient but also dangerous. It has reached a point where immediate intervention is no longer just necessary, but urgent. I kindly request that this matter be prioritized and that the necessary repairs or replacements be carried out as soon as possible. Restoring the street lighting will greatly improve safety, visibility, and overall quality of life for everyone in the area. Your prompt attention to this matter would be sincerely appreciated. I inquire about my recent water bill to Nelson Mandela Metro Municipality, which appears to be significantly higher than expected. I was informed that the billing figures are accurate, but there may be a leak. However, I have received conflicting information regarding access to my property, as I was told that the meter readers could not enter my yard due to a locked gate. I point out that the dates provided to me regarding the locked gate are misleading, as I did not have a yard or gate during that time. I responded previously to clarify that there is no leak in my property, and the communication I received indicates otherwise. I believe it's crucial for the municipality to ensure accurate and transparent communication in these matters, as it affects residents greatly.

I am reaching out to express my concerns regarding the recent water billing practices in Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality. It has come to my attention that discrepancies in billing amounts are becoming increasingly common. For instance, receiving a bill of R55,000, followed by another the next month for R65,000, raises serious questions. Many residents, particularly those in RDP houses, are struggling to make sense of these charges, which appear arbitrary and unjust. I believe that there are systemic issues at play that may be leading to poor billing practices, potentially harming vulnerable communities. It is imperative that the municipality addresses these practices to restore trust and ensure fair treatment for all residents. This is really pathetic and people must come out and boycotte this.

Somehow writing this makes me feel like someone actually cares; that there are living breathing people at NMBM that are proud of their job (that funds their life) and have some authority to resolve disputes that somebody employed by the municipality are responsible for. Long standing issues like the one I am dealing with are unbelievable serious in the way it has impacted my family. If I conducted my business with this kind of inefficiency and inability, I would not have kept my doors open even one day. We have no choice but to stand in line and wait and on hold politely, with kindness, and request assistance. I completely understand why good people leave this country. Thank you hellopeter for this forum that gives me some satisfaction that I can voice my frustration.

There is zero client service. Billing is consistently incorrect, with no attempt by the municipality to resolve the issues. Despite repeated errors, the municipality fails to provide any proof of allocations for double-billed rates. They also refuse to rectify water account discrepancies caused by their own billing mistakes. Even escalations to the CFO have resulted in no resolution or meaningful intervention.

If i could rate a zero i would do that. NMBM has been the cause of my stress. I am fedup with the constant high billings. This has been going on for years and no one seems to help with my account. The meter readings on the statement is not what I see. My account is in the 200 thousands and every time i must send readings but nothing gets done.

Dear Hellopeter Nelson Mandela University has still defaulted on a a substantial payment for books published and invoiced over two months ago. I daresay ANC cadres are *****ing money from the universities as well. The education system in South Africa, like so much else, has collapsed. Over the last 30 years, the likes of ANC and EFF have proven over and over that they are totally unfit to govern. When are the honest, decent people of South Africa going to rise up in revolt?
