On the 23/05/2026 my doctor checked which hospital is in my network on my medical aid plan as I needed urgent admission. He found the nearest hospital being Mediclinic- Medforum. He checked who's the Head of Surgeon and found that it's Dr R Maluleke. My doctor proceeded to contact Dr Maluleke and spoke to him. My doctor then issued me with a referral letter to Emergency at Mediclinic Medforum. Upon arrival at Medforum I was advised by the Receptionist if I'm aware that Dr Maluleke is the Specialist and that we needed the Specialist Authorization. I told her that didn't know that. I have never been admitted before and it was MY FIRST TIME EVER USING MY Medical aid in 6 years of having it. The receptionist called Dr Maluleke and made him aware that I don't have an authorisation and they also couldn't reach my doctor so I was admitted because they also couldn't call Discovery either. On Monday I was advised that they called Discovery for Specialist Authorization, that they were taken from pillar to post and they're still waiting for Discovery to answer. Dr Maluleke said I must go back to my doctor and obtain the Specialist Authorization. They discharged me at 17h00 with no pain killers and no medication, meanwhile I was very ill and in excruciating pain. I was ill, not in a good state to travel and it was in the evening. My problem is that what if I was from far, from Limpopo for instance and had no other means of accommodation. I was not even given a chance to call my immediate family members. I was literally kicked out of hospital! I have medical aid but I was denied medical treatment pending an authorisation. How many people are treated this badly? How do you treat human beings like that?! IS THAT HOW DR R MALULEKE and MEDICLINIC MEDFORUM TREAT PATIENTS?! IS IT BECAUSE I'M BLACK AND THEREFORE WOULD NOT STAND UP FOR MYSELF?! WOULD OTHER RACES HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE SAME ILL TREATMENT?!! THIS IS EVIL!!! The right to have access to health care services is a basic human right guaranteed by the Constitution. Section 27 of the Constitution provides that everyone has the right to have access to health care services, including reproductive health care services and no one may be refused emergency medical treatment. THIS WAS NOT ADHERED TO BY DR R MALULEKE (Who took an oath to put patient's live first) AND MEDICLINIC MEDFORUM. In my case, Dr R MALULKEKE TOOK A FINANCIAL DECISION OVER A PATIENT'S LIFE. As it is now, I am at home and have not been attended to for 3 days.

I want to share this compliment even though is long over due, there was this Nurse by the name of Thembi. She helped through a dark time when I was admitted there, she did not diminish my pain but she was patient with me as I couldn't stop sobbing. I had a miscarriage and My mother was not present with but I felt her warm with Sister Thembi present. Thank you, We more likes of her.

Medforum Hospital looks like it was excellent when it was just Medforum. There are very good Dr's I go to there. Emergency unit is the worst since whoever Dr took over I had 3 bad encounters and what they do it's like you are forced to sign some feedback it's more like speak now or forever hold your breath lol. The moment they said beds are full I knew I had to run because the worst is coming.

Disappointed by one of your nurse who *****s visitors belongings at General ward bed 37, my partner lost his wallet on the chair while the doctor was busy with me, the same nurse when the doctor was done examining me, he left his phone on my bed and the nurse was about to put it in her pocket luckily I alerted the doctor about his phone and she then give it to him. I even went to the ward yesterday to look for it hence that was the only place we had it and no one advised me of what to do next in such cases. She tried to tap with the bank cards at mamelodi luckily we already blocked them. I am very disappointed as a patient π π π NB I know her name and surname

Staff doesn't check on the baby for more than 2 hours ,and baby is admitted at Paedetritic critical care ,which I believe one needs to check on the baby time and again, machines keeps on beeping..manager always in the office doesn't walk around to ensure that the service is running smoothly ,this hospital is no difference from public hospital.

I have never seen so much non interest in patients even worse on children. The assigned Dr Moeketsi just told the nurses to admit my child because he/she is busy. He was admitted for over 18 hours and not even once did they come to see the child. Really disappointing. When attempting to find out what time they coming, they were still giving vague responses. I wouldn't recommend this hospital to your worst enemy. The only thing they are concerned about is money while they don't want to provide service.
