Lenovo South Africa
Based on recent customer reviews, Lenovo South Africa is facing significant customer experience challenges. Customers consistently mention frustration with warranty service, repair turnaround times through partners such as PartServe, and difficulty reaching responsive support channels. A recurring theme involves hardware faults including overheating, charging failures, and motherboard issues arising relatively early in product life. Communication gaps and unresolved escalations feature heavily in negative feedback. A smaller positive thread highlights reliable ThinkPad performance, solid build quality, and instances where the service team did resolve issues professionally and with genuine care.

I purchased 2 of these laptops. BOTH have broken, within warraty. 1 - laptop hinge broke. I logged a return on takealot who fetched the laptop. They then send it to Lenovo. Lenovo sends it to Partserve. PartServe did not repair the Hinge. They sent it back to me, broken. I had to log another return. This time PartServe repaired the hinge, but sent the laptop back with the incorrect charger and the laptop was admin locked. I now have to log another return, 2 - the trackpad stopped working. Same story - Log return > Lenovo > PartServe. Partserve sent it back to me unrepaired. I had to log another return. This back and forth has gone on since 02 February. Neither laptop works and i have spent R17k on both. Also, when they return it to me, i had to pay an IT company to reinstall all software again. Takelot and Lenovo refuse to refund me for the laptops. I am stuck with an endless back and forth hoping they get repaired.

I have ordered four lenovo laptops, in the same month. Two of which are not working optimally, I have contacted Takealot and sent both laptops in for repairs - one laptop, nothing was done, after two weeks, the laptop was returned with the same issue. The second laptop, was with providers for over a month, and was returned in a worse condition that what it was sent in. I have logged returns again both requesting a refund - I am told that the issue cannot be dealt with takealot, but rather with the supplier, and that a refund cannot be promised. This is appaling, this entire process is holding up my business and my staff cannot work this way, the delays are ridiculous and there is no sight of resolution. Lenovo has attempted repairs on both laptops, twice now, and each time the devices are returning in a worse condition than when sent it. Lenovo is refusing to refund me for these laptops. we are back in May, both laptops have been taken to partserve and returned again, the laptops are scratched and damaged, the hinge on one has been fixed, however, there is now a software issue that doesnt allow me to use the laptop. I really do not know what more to do. This is pathetic, i have bought these laptops only for them to be in repairs back and forth since February!!!!!! HOW IS THIS OKAY???????? I am actively looking for other ways and means to complain because I am not getting any joy. At this point, do i just throw these laptops into the bin and incur costs to purchase new laptops? what do i do?????

A 1 star here just because i had to choose a star. (Lenovo case 2030320436) My client purchased a Lenovo next business day warranty which supposed to have a technician onsite the next business day if required. its been a week now and the "support" person (Mahlatse Kekana) keeps talking of eta on parts. This laptop was purchased from one of their Distributors in Midrand and even they cant assist with this matter. My company is about to lose a major client of ours due to their lack of urgency and incompetence. I'm not even sure if they will respond here either but I have to try as I'm not getting anywhere with their "support" team.

I have owned a number of different branded laptops and the latest brand I purchased was a Lenovo (IdeaPad 3). I have had this laptop for a number of years now and my patience has come to an end. Every single time (from the very begining) the laptop does an update my Lenovo crashes. Sometimes it takes a day to come right and sometime it is longer. This time around it is 3 days with no signs of getting better. I have tried to contact lenovo support but you get directed and redirected to all the easy way outs for lenovo. How does a public forum correct a technical problem? I need to fix this laptop with a proper technician. When the update is done the computer becomes unresponsive, it hangs between pages (on browser), its take a very long time to open an app/program and when eventually in the program (excel etc) i can go make a cup of tea while waiting for the program to complete input etc. If I open multiple programs it sometimes does not open one of the programs and I need to click multiple time on the icon for it to eventually open. Even the Lenovo LSB does not open. I thought that to assist with this I would put in an SSD harddrive and i must admit that when the laptop works it is super fast but when there is an update nothing helps. I am frustrated and sick of this and with there being ZERO support from Lenovo how am I to solve this problem?

I bought a Lenovo laptop form Marko. One of the worst purchases of my life. Broke down twice in the first year. Takes months to repair. Currently being repaired and they are waiting for parts. Very bad communication (if any). Not at all embarrassed about their bad product.

I bought a Lenovo IP 3 i7 1255U 16 512 for an engineering student in May 2024. The syssem board needs replacing - less than two years from time of purchase. This seem like very poor quality for a machine that cost R15000.00. The replacement part is now very expensive and delivery has a long delay so i have to purchase another laptop as lectures resume next week - it will not be a Lennova.

Lenovo worst customer service unsatisfied will never buy again. At this point I am thoroughly disgusted with Lenovo's customer sales/support service. Anyone thinking of buying a Lenovo laptop – please reconsider.
