Based on recent customer reviews, Automagic delivers a sharply divided customer experience across its branches. Customers consistently praise certain locations for professional staff, consistent progress updates, and quality panel beating workmanship, with named consultants frequently commended for going the extra mile. However, a recurring theme at other branches is poor workmanship, including loose bumpers, paint defects, and missing parts, alongside repeated delays, unmet collection dates, and silence from management. Insurance-referred clients in particular express frustration with accountability and communication breakdowns.

Automagic Centurion , the service i received fron them is excellent. I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding professional manner in which my vehicle repairs were handled. From start to finish, the service I received was excellent, and the workmanship and attention to detail were truly appreciated. She went out of her way to keep me informed throughout the entire process and was always willing to assist wherever required. Her professionalism, communication, and dedication made a very stressful situation much easier to manage. Please extend my gratitude and compliments to Jennifer and the entire team. Excellent customer service such as this deserves recognition. Well done, and thank you once again for the outstanding service.

Thank you to Allison and Team for the great work and service!! Even if it was a small job 🙂, Your constant checking up to remind me of the date of repair and the attention on the day when I brought my vehicle was on point. Quick and Sharp.

AUTOMAGIC CENTURION : Terrible Workmanship and Ethics; tail light fell off on highway, number plate lights hanging out the back, PDC came loose and fell out of the bumper, missing bumper parts (not re-installed), broke my cars handbrake and now want to blame it on me for not maintaining it! Unfortunately had to take my car back after first round of bad workmanship for them to repair the mess and guess what; they did not even re-install the missing parts and tried to hand it back to me without the parts for the 2nd time! I sincerely hope Santam sorts them out; maybe this review will help someone in the area not to take their vehicle to this place because they will cause you a lot of pain and grief and try and hand it back to you in a much worse state! I await the outcome of this situation, lets see if they can turn this into a positive, but I doubt it based on my 3rd experience with them all negative / bad!

I would like to formally raise a complaint regarding the repair work carried out on my vehicle at Automagic Menlyn. My vehicle was booked in for a relatively minor repair, namely the replacement of a damaged rear bumper, following a referral from my insurance company. While the repair was completed within the initially suggested timeframe, the overall experience and quality of workmanship have been extremely disappointing. Throughout the repair period, I had to personally follow up multiple times to obtain updates. After approximately 16 working days (close to three weeks), I eventually received my vehicle. At first glance, the repair appeared acceptable; however, upon returning home and inspecting the vehicle more closely, I noticed that the top section of the bumper had lifted and was not properly secured. It became evident that substandard, non-original parts had been used. The materials appear cheap and fragile, and the fitment is poor, indicating inferior workmanship. For a simple bumper replacement, this level of quality is unacceptable. Considering the time taken to complete what should have been a straightforward repair, combined with the poor quality of parts and workmanship, the value for money is simply not justified. It is also concerning that this service provider was recommended by my insurance company. Furthermore, I am now inconvenienced by having to return the vehicle for corrective work after already handing back my rental vehicle, which adds unnecessary frustration. Based on this experience, I am highly dissatisfied and would not recommend this workshop. I strongly suggest that customers request alternative repairers before proceeding with bookings at Automagic Menlyn. I trust this matter will be addressed urgently and that a satisfactory resolution will be provided.

Automagic JHB South (Booysens) service is superb. Well done to the owner Malcolm, Imelia (claims coordinator) and workshop crew. Great service. Your estimated repair timeframes and feedback were spot on. Workmanship was 100%. More than happy to recommend this panel beater.

The reception area is filled with people sitting with their backs to you, they will speak about you and you requests to the receptionist, but do not turn around to engage with you - the customer - this leaves quite a bad taste of entitlement and arrogance. If this was the only complaint, one could live with that. However, the workmanship is less than sub-optimal for what should be a well established panel beating and spray painting business: The car (Audi A4 Avant) came in for dents and deep scratches on the driver's side front and rear door. Poor blocking and filing work has resulted in a now more "corrugated" appeal. the driver's door now only closes with extra force. Voids left from bad prep / blocking work have just been over painted (in the middle of the door). The clear coat has formed beadings at edges of the doors. It appears no one is taking pride in their work, "since it is insurance work, it does get paid for anyway - so why care for excellent service". After the vehicle spent two weeks in the shop to get to this poor state, it will have to go back for "one day" only to rectify these complaints. Please do not take your vehicle to this shop, the work carried out there can be done much better by a number of "backyard" operations.
