From Impressed to Embarrassed – My Worst Experience at The Cradle”
I visited The Cradle today with someone I wanted to impress because my previous three visits were exceptional. Unfortunately, this was the complete opposite. From the moment we arrived, we were ignored. Our waiter never introduced himself and seemed completely uninterested in serving us. We had to search for a waiter whenever we needed something, and basic essentials like seasoning were never provided. To make matters worse, we were rushed through our meal because we were told the kitchen was closing. It felt as though they wanted us out as quickly as possible. The entire experience was embarrassing and uncomfortable. I hated every second of it. I will never recommend The Cradle again and strongly advise anyone considering it to rethink their choice. There are far better restaurants that value their guests and offer service worthy of the price. The view alone does not justify such deplorable service.

Appalling customer service - Valentines ruined
I made a booking almost two weeks ago for Valentine’s dinner with my 6 year old daughter. I’m a single mom and travel a lot, just returning from a trip again last night. I was looking forward to spoiling her with dinner in a beautiful setting. We arrived at the venue and our booking was never captured and to my surprise what the individual who did my booking telephonically failed to tell me was that there was a set menu at a cost of R540/p which obviously didn’t have a kiddies option either. We spoke to two waiters before I finally got to speak to the manager who seemed extremely inexperienced and in his attempt of saving this situation went to speak to the chef just to came back and say that the chef refused to assist us as they are fully booked and was also unwilling to attempt making a kids friendly meal. The manager then proceeded to say they have a new staff structure who are all very inexperienced and they are attempting additional training to fill in the shortcomings so sorry but he is showing us away. I am appalled by your customer service and you truly deserve this poor rating. Thank you for spoiling our Valentine’s Day.

Thumbs down for Cradle Restaurant
Worst lunch ever on 1 May 2018 at the Cradle restaurant . We reserved a table for 6 people 2 weeks prior but were not in the reservation book when we arrived at the restaurant. We were allocated a table and after ordering our main course waited 90 minutes for the food to arrive. Worst food ever with stuffed chicken dry and cold , one without any stuffing at all . Rest of food ordered very mediocre . Lack of management a major problem at this restaurant .We complained about the long wait but seemed manageress had no influence over the staff .Tired of complaining I had a word with the chef and shared our feelings about the place with him . My daughter's birthday ruined by this experience.
