Spotify
Based on recent customer reviews, Spotify is facing significant frustration from South African subscribers, with a recurring theme centred on billing and subscription management. Customers consistently mention difficulties cancelling subscriptions, unexpected debits even after cancellation, and inflexibility around billing dates. A widely shared concern relates to the discontinuation of the Family Plan and the shift to a more expensive Premium tier, which longtime users feel penalises loyalty. Some listeners do appreciate music discovery features such as the DJ tool and autoplay, but service and pricing grievances dominate the conversation.

THEY ATE A ****!!! They debut your account on random days and claim it’s the day you started your account and now they don’t want to refund me. Then they downgrade their premium to premium lite and don’t inform their customers.

Spotify uses your bank like Capitec offering a 3 month free subscription on their rewards on their app to trick you / they then take immediate payment of your acc - excuse you are not first time listener

After using the music App for over 6 years, collecting playlists and downloading music. They wake up one morning and decide to cancel their current offering (Packages) and now trying to get us to pay double what we were for all these years. ********* to say the least. Me and my family have been on their family package for just over 3 years and now i wake this morning and get told that they do not offer that package anymore and if i want to have all of us on the App, i should have two accounts and pay double. This is very unacceptable and would advise anyone to look for an alternative.

Do not get a Spotify account. Today is only the 21st of Jan and they have already debited my account more than 12 times, I've had to transfer my cash out so that they can't keep doing it but still they persist debating my account.
