If you seriously considering a solar system from the Company Solar Advice to save on your electricity bill, Dont trust them, please be aware that their customer service stinks as far as after sales support is concerned. I was disappointed by their technical and sales team who repeatedly failed to answer my request for help after I realised the solar system was costing me way more money than I was paying without the oversized and under performing solar system. And to frustrate matters further, non of the staff rep**** to my plea for help and could justify why I was sold an oversized 16 kW inverter when a smaller inverter could of done the same job. The oversized system miserably underperformed to the extent that I am paying more for electricity now than I was before as I now have to pay solar rental of R5685 to Solar Advice and R11000 to the Municipality grid as well. When instead their technical sales guy, Leon in the beginning created the false expectation that I would be saving money, and thereafter has ghosted me with no reply just dead silence. I regret doing Business with Solar advice who demanded an upfront non refundable commitment fee of R5685 with no benefit offered to me at all. A real ****. To make matters worse Solar Advice have installed a system that I can't monitor my solar consumption and what it's generating every day as I don't have access to their router rights and what's most frustrating is Solar Advice refuse to respond to my request for help. I really regret giving Solar Advice my business, I should of gone with Wetility instead. Solar Advice make me feel like I have been ****med.

I engaged Solar Advice under the impression that they were a legitimate and trustworthy company, but my experience has been extremely disappointing. In April 2023, I financed a solar system through them and Merchant West, consisting of 15 × 455W panels, an 8kW inverter, and 2 × 5.15kW lithium batteries. All supporting and ownership documentation reflected these specifications. The system was installed on 3 April 2023, and I fully settled the finance on 30 July 2024. At that point, I was provided with ownership documentation confirming everything as per the original agreement. Believing everything was in order, I used them again for an upgrade. On 18 March 2025, I ordered 3 additional 455W panels and 1 × 5.15kW battery. After installation, I immediately noticed that the new panels differed from the existing ones and raised the issue right away. For the next two months, I was given the runaround. I was told they no longer had stock of the 450–455W panels and was offered unrelated alternatives, such as a panel cleaning service worth R4000, instead of resolving the issue or honoring what was agreed. Frustrated, I inspected the system myself and checked the serial numbers. I then discovered that my original installation from April 2023 did not match the documentation. Instead of the 15 × 455W panels I financed and was told I received, 15 × 475W panels had actually been installed. Ironically, the panels installed in March 2025 were the correct 455W panels I had originally been promised. What concerns me most is not only the discrepancy, but the lack of transparency and honesty. I was misled for two months about stock availability, while never being informed that my original system differed from the documented specifications. In addition, I have not received a Certificate of Compliance (CoC) for the alterations and mixed panel configuration. Based on this experience, I believe both the supplier and the financing partner have provided misleading and inaccurate information. I cannot recommend either of them.

I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received from Solar Advice and their contractors, G4 Contractors. For a long period my inverter has been experiencing a fault where it repeatedly goes off grid. G4 Contractors have been sent out multiple times to “fix” the problem and I have been charged call-out fees each time, yet the issue has never been resolved. The inverter was eventually removed and sent to Deye for repair. After it was returned and reinstalled, the situation has actually become worse than before. The unit continues to go off grid. This morning at 2am I was woken up by the inverter alarm because the battery had been completely depleted to 0%, as the system was only running on battery. This is extremely concerning and has also caused my electricity usage to increase significantly because the battery constantly needs to recharge. I have escalated the matter to Natalie at Solar Advice as well as Adele at G4 Contractors, but communication has been poor and I am still being asked to pay additional call-out fees, despite the fact that the original issue has never been resolved. At this point: The fault remains unresolved I have paid multiple call-out fees The system is performing worse than before the inverter was sent for repair Communication and service have been extremely disappointing I am now requesting that Solar Advice and G4 Contractors properly diagnose and resolve the root cause of this issue without charging further call-out fees. This situation is unacceptable and I expect this matter to be resolved urgently.

I spent R100k with solar advice. The service was great upon till i made payment. All the equipment was late. Had to be collected in 3 different places. Now i have issues with the inverter since day 1 and they have no urgency to attend to their faulty inverter. Ordered more material 2 weeks ago and STILL dont have an ETA. Ayden and Natalie are useless. The owner Armando Da Silva and the GM Leon ******tse is no where to be found. I think all the 5 star reviews on google is ****

Your after sales service care is **** Our wifi controller stopped working, still under warranty but they don't want to purchase a new one to replace in case its not the controller thats faulty but possibly the port on the inverter, charging us around 2k labour to do the wifi controller. In the mean time they would rather take our inverter in to test charging us 6k labour and leaving us on eskom for up to 21 days and if it's not the inverter they will charge us then only the extra 2k labour for the wifi controller. Useless people to work with!

Solar Advice put my solar system in 2 years ago, and the service was good, so I used them again to extend the system last week. The install team (from G Force, not a Solar Advice team) was an hour late, completely messed up the battery alignment and position (twice!) and as a result there was no more space to drill holes, so they had to modify the battery brackets. It should have taken 6 hours, but as a result, it took 2 days and still wasn't correct - they forgot to mount the one battery bracket and didn't fit any of the battery earth cables. They also didn't take basic steps like vacuuming as they drilled and wearing gloves, so my house was a mess afterwards and the walls covered in grime and handprints. The system location is going to need to be repainted once the incorrect holes have been filled. Complete amateurish incompetence. Told Solar Advice this wasn't acceptable and they said they'd send an internal team to rectify today. They were supposed to be here two hours ago, but didn't arrive, and I've still heard nothing. I was prepared to pay Solar Advice's slightly higher prices for their hardware for the sake of their reputation and the good service I experienced first time round, but after this I'll never use them again and I would advise anyone reading this not to either. A couple of months ago I phoned Solar Advice with a query regarding the inverter and never heard back from them, so I guess that should have been my warning. Rather buy your own hardware from one of the warehouse suppliers, have it delivered, and shop round for a reputable installer who you can deal with directly.

Our experience with Solar advice was exceptional from the first call till the first Kw of own produced green energy. Ayden in Cape Town was most helpful in answering all the million questions we had. He made sure to come back to me with answers to questions he was not 100%sure of, and did not hesitate to arrange an onsite visit by the qualified electricians to finalise the design of our Off grid system. The Gforce team who assisted with the installation should actually receive 6 or more stars! The installation took 4 days, they traveled about 300km each day and worked from early to late. Vince and Jeph were focussing on each aspect of the installation to the finest detail. They found that about 16 of the already installed panels were not optimally positioned for best sun exposure and did not even blink an eye to move them to a better spot to ensure optimal production. The system is working fantastic,we are comfortably producing enough energy to cover us day and night. We were Eskom direct customers, and have not looked back since the installation. I can honestly recommend Solar advice and Gforce for top class service and support, they are next level!
