I engaged Solar Advice under the impression that they were a legitimate and trustworthy company, but my experience has been extremely disappointing. In April 2023, I financed a solar system through them and Merchant West, consisting of 15 × 455W panels, an 8kW inverter, and 2 × 5.15kW lithium batteries. All supporting and ownership documentation reflected these specifications. The system was installed on 3 April 2023, and I fully settled the finance on 30 July 2024. At that point, I was provided with ownership documentation confirming everything as per the original agreement. Believing everything was in order, I used them again for an upgrade. On 18 March 2025, I ordered 3 additional 455W panels and 1 × 5.15kW battery. After installation, I immediately noticed that the new panels differed from the existing ones and raised the issue right away. For the next two months, I was given the runaround. I was told they no longer had stock of the 450–455W panels and was offered unrelated alternatives, such as a panel cleaning service worth R4000, instead of resolving the issue or honoring what was agreed. Frustrated, I inspected the system myself and checked the serial numbers. I then discovered that my original installation from April 2023 did not match the documentation. Instead of the 15 × 455W panels I financed and was told I received, 15 × 475W panels had actually been installed. Ironically, the panels installed in March 2025 were the correct 455W panels I had originally been promised. What concerns me most is not only the discrepancy, but the lack of transparency and honesty. I was misled for two months about stock availability, while never being informed that my original system differed from the documented specifications. In addition, I have not received a Certificate of Compliance (CoC) for the alterations and mixed panel configuration. Based on this experience, I believe both the supplier and the financing partner have provided misleading and inaccurate information. I cannot recommend either of them.
I bought a Toshiba microwave from the Leroy Merlin Online Store on 20 July 2024, specifically because it came with a 5-year warranty. On 5 March 2026, the microwave suddenly failed and would not switch on at all. Expecting a straightforward warranty process, I drove all the way to Leroy Merlin Little Falls in Roodepoort for assistance. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely frustrating. There was no manager on duty, and the staff informed me that they could not assist with anything related to the online store. While standing in the store, I tried phoning the Leroy Merlin online store for help, only to discover that there was no proper support, warranty, or returns option available. The people I managed to reach were unable to assist me at all. It felt as though there was no clear warranty or returns process in place, despite the product being sold with a 5-year warranty. In the end, I had to take the microwave to Bergens Randpark Ridge (bergensrandparkridge.co.za) to book it in for repairs. They were far more capable and helpful, but I now have to pay out of pocket for something that should have been handled as a simple warranty claim. This was a very disappointing after-sales experience. Buying from Leroy Merlin seemed convenient at the time, but when something goes wrong, the lack of support becomes clear. Based on this experience, I would strongly avoid shopping at Leroy Merlin, especially for appliances, due to the poor after-sales service and lack of warranty support.
On Saturday, April 13, 2024, a *****ulent transaction of R5000 appeared on my credit card account. Subsequently, there were further attempts of R5000 and R2500, both of which were automatically declined. I did not authorize the initial R5000 transaction, and despite my attempts to reach a representative through the app, utilizing facial recognition for approval, the transaction was still allowed. Upon noticing the unauthorized charge, I immediately contacted customer service, only to be informed that the reversal of the transaction was not possible. Initially promised feedback by Monday, I followed up on Monday only to be told that it would take 72 business hours. By Wednesday, still without any resolution, I proceeded to lodge a formal complaint. Despite multiple follow-up calls, including references: ***** Case: 16114157 on April 13, 2024, Follow-up Call: 13154780 on April 16, 2024, and Complaint on April 17, 2024, there was no satisfactory response. Additional follow-up calls on April 19, 2024, with references: 16213033, 16213289, 16224453, and 16226057, yielded no resolution or feedback. Finally, late Friday night, they claimed the transaction was authorized via Apple Pay, which I refuted, as I do not own an Apple device, prompting them to change their story to Samsung Pay. In summary, I lost R5000 due to the lack of proper feedback and resolution from Discovery Bank. I strongly advise using reputable banks and avoiding Discovery, as they fail to address their clients' concerns seriously.
I booked Waterberg Predator Park under booking.com. The place is advertised under the wrong name and the signage outside is Caesar's bush palace and they refer to themselves as Waterberg Wildlife Sanctuary. The place was in an rough state and not at all as advertised most of the pools are broken down, majority of the units are under renovations and they used false adverti*****t under booking.com. booking.com kept saying they will help us, however don't come back to us. They don't blacklist the property or correct this. I won't recommend using either the place we stayed at or booking.com

I changed jobs more than a year ago, I moved my provident fund from Alexander Forbes to another provider during this transition. I submitted my 2020 Tax returns to find out that I have a pending Tax directive. I contacted SARS and they told me these cases have to wait 90 business days for manual intervention. I contacted SARS again when the 90 days was over. They told me first to wait another 90 days I told them I just finished with my first 90 days and they said I'm right and they will escalate the matter. SARS came back and told me that my former employer filed my provident fund transfer in the incorrect TAX year 2021. I got hold of my former employer and they told me it's Alexander Forbes. After struggling to get hold of Alexander Forbes, because option 2 doesn't work on their phone lines or they don't respond to web queries. I opened a complain 21 Jan 2021. Complains got in touch and they told me first it's the new fund provider that did it wrong. The new fund told me it's Alexander Forbes. SARS is telling me it's Alexander Forbes. I asked Alexander Forbes to fix their mess and they told me I should talk to SARS directly they can't. Long story short Alexander Forbes have been giving me the run around for the past 3 months. Their phone lines doesn't work, the web site doesn't work and they don't phone back. I finally got feedback yesterday from them on mail telling me that their Tax team have finally contacted SARS and theirs a issue with a 21 day SLA to respond... another 21 Days to wait... Don't invest your money with Alexander Forbes they don't care and they are impossible to get hold of.
Vodacom activated a contract under my name without my consent. I got tired of fighting it and paid the outstanding amount and then cancelled it and they still continuously bill me for this contract. Vodacom is committing a crime and fraud
I'm quite clued up when it comes to IT I worked for one of the largest IT vendors and am currently working for another large IT vendor. I decided to move my fiber connection to supersonic and worse mistake ever. They did not tell me that they want to manage my intenal network and control the router setup. They can't guarentee the network is safe what about my alarm and surveillance system. My first support call the technician said he will create a account and never came back the second said they wont support me with my own router. How can you trust a company that wants access to your private LAN. Don't use them rather go to cool ideas
