Based on recent customer reviews, Skyworth is facing significant dissatisfaction from South African customers, with overwhelmingly negative sentiment around product reliability and after-sales support. A recurring theme is televisions failing prematurely, often with blank or dark screens appearing within months or just past the warranty period. Customers consistently mention frustrations with unresponsive customer service, prolonged repair turnaround, and difficulty securing warranty claims through partner retailers and service centres. While a small number of reviewers praise picture quality and individual staff members, these positive impressions are largely overshadowed by widespread complaints about durability and accountability.

I logged a repair for my Skyworth TV at HiFi Corporation Westgate Mall on 28 April 2026. Since then, it’s been constant delays with no resolution. Last Friday, a Skyworth employee called and confirmed a team would collect the TV from my home today. I took unpaid leave to be available, but no one showed up. Even worse, Skyworth’s system shows a technician tried to call me, but there are no missed calls or voicemails on my phone. This feels dishonest. The whole process has wasted my time, cost me money, and left me extremely disappointed with both Skyworth and HiFi Corporation’s customer service.

My mother bought a 49 ich Skyworth TV at Pick n' Pay back in 2018. 5 years later in 2023 the TV stopped working and starting showing lines until the screen went completely blank. The TV barely lasted 5 years, and it ended up not functioning just like that. The warranty expired a long time ago and so we had no choice but to dispose of it. Wasted a lot of money buying this garbage piece of **** of a TV, and my mother still to this day is very upset with me for choosing this TV! I regret ever considering this brand because now we are using an older Samsung LED TV, which still works perfectly well.

They have pathetic service and never return calls and email you will call them back yourself 10 times but still instead they will hang up on your ears. Its been 10 days without getting help drom them to fix my 75” tv which has frozen on blue screen apparently because of software update when you call you promised someone else will come back to you and no one is bothered so people think twice before you buy skyworth products the dont care abour servicing people who are users of their brands

I bought Skyworth tv at OK furniture bellville on Sep 2022. The Skyworth tv just went blank, mind you it didn’t even lasted me 5 years. I tried to contact OK furniture at bellville to tell them the story and the lady on the phone said it’s out of warranty it only has one year warranty I was supposed to do another one online. When I told her I didn’t know about that she said, how she supposed to know coz she was not there by the time I was buying it (I was treated poorly by OK furniture staff, called Ase) how rude ? I’m so disappointed in Skyworth I had hope it was going to last me but the tv failed unusually early.

I purchased my TV at Makro Woodmead in July 2023. I came home one day to a TV that went blank but there was sound. I logged a call with their service department, firstly how rude is their customer service reception?! The lady asked me why am I logging a call for my TV, 'WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE TV'. How was I supposed to know They asked me for my TV Details and they opened a job card, TV Was collected 4 days later. Since then I haven't had an update. I called in to get an update and was advised that it with a tech and I will know soon what the issue is. Today I called 10/04/26 to get an update, the lady at reception keeps transferring me, eventually i get through to the 'workshop manager' VINCENT who then says 'he will try top get the technician 'GODFREY' to assess the TV. I then lose my cool and advise but that's the last update I got which was two weeks ago. 'VINCENT' then says to me the only reason they looking at the TV only now is because they didn't have power. I asked him why weren't we informed as client, his answer to me was 'that's the call center's duty'. I already work in customer service, but this service I have received from SKYWORTH HAS BEEN UTTERLY POOR, to make matters worse i purchased an extended warranty for reasons like this. But to be treated like this? Shameful

I have a 70 inch just over 2 years and it went blank. Found out there's no skyworth offices/service centre in the Western Cape so contacted Skyworth JHB/ Pretoria that said a company called RDC TV repairs will contact me. I Had to contact them and TV was taken away and I was told back light needs replacing and awaiting parts from skyworth. 2 days later get called and told it's the tcon board and told part ordered and not sure if there's parts. Also got told skyworth tvs have issues and backlight goes within warranty period alot and normally they don't have parts by Rdc. Then another 2 days later I get called and told my TV is off to JHB to skyworth for assessment and repair. Been a month now with no TV and my TV is still in JHB 🤦🏽♂️ Have the thread of emails with JHB that says TV repaired then still need status report, then strip light sorted, then awaiting status check and so on etc... I ask about the tcon board and when do i get my TV back etc but it's just one email after another with the last so far today saying failed quality test. the technician from RDC TV repairs that's their agent in CPT told me there's no parts and I should get a credit note as alot of customers have had issues. I feel my TV might be just getting a quick patch up repair or something and have checked reviews and skyworth as well as RDC have got really bad reviews and customers are not treated well. I have enquired about getting a credit note and get my money back but nobody is giving any positive answers... really a disgruntled customer!
