At the end of November 2025, we claimed a leaking and non-working dishwasher. PSG Insure sent out BATTS APPLIANCE AND REPAIRS (their choice of service provider, not ours) to have a look at the dishwasher. They removed the dishwasher, but decided to move our fridge because they believed there was no space to push the dishwasher through. The dishwasher is 600mm wide, and the space between the wall and the fridge is 650mm. In the process of moving the fridge, BATTS dropped the water filter, which broke and flooded our kitchen, scullery, and part of our dining room, resulting in water damage to our kitchen island. PSG does not want to cover the repairs as I do not have building insurance with them. We are with OOBA. I believe that we do not need to claim against our building insurance, as we did not cause the damage. The repairs should be covered by BATTS as it was their negligence. They were arrogant enough to tie up the water supply and leave. We had to replace the water filter. BATTS did some repairs (which were not broken) and brought the dishwasher back. It was still not working. It was sent back, and we waited a month for it to be repaired. When we received the dishwasher back, one of the side panels was skew and the front door of the dishwasher could not close properly (also fitted skew). It is now less than 6 months later, and the dishwasher has the same problem. It does not want to drain water or even wash. Our kitchen island is also not repaired. I have emailed Andile Jali and Grant Cooper on the 10th May 2026, with zero response. I want the dishwasher and the kitchen island repaired as it was before.

I would like to start by saying that, historically, I have had generally positive experiences with both PSG and Absa Insurance, and they have assisted me well in the past. Overall, I have been a happy client, which makes this particular experience even more disappointing. My concern is specifically around the handling of Claim Number: ***. The claim was registered on 28 April 2026, yet after weeks of delays, vague updates, and contradictory feedback, my claim was ultimately rejected based on assumptions rather than what I believe was a proper technical investigation. Throughout the process, I repeatedly followed up for updates and was informed that: --reports were still being reviewed, --a second assessor had allegedly been appointed, --and feedback would be provided “before end of day.” However: -- I never met or heard from this “second assessor,” -- no meaningful leak detection testing appears to have been conducted, -- and the assessor himself later clarified via WhatsApp that they were not certain where the leak was located and that the mention of moles was merely a possibility, not a confirmed cause. Despite this uncer*****y, the claim was still rejected with what appeared to be a definitive conclusion regarding excluded piping. What troubles me most is the disconnect between: -- what was communicated informally by the assessor, -- and the cer*****y reflected in the final rejection outcome. I do not make accusations lightly, but the overall process has unfortunately left me questioning whether the matter was handled objectively and ethically. If there were assumptions made to fit a policy exclusion without sufficient technical verification, that is something I would never condone. To be clear: -- I understand that policies contain exclusions, -- and I accept that not every claim will be approved. My issue is not merely the rejection itself — it is whether a fair and evidence-based assessment actually took place before the decision was made. My concerns are: -- No proper leak detection or technical testing appears to have been conducted. -- The assessor’s own comments contradict the cer*****y used to reject the claim. -- A “second assessor” was allegedly appointed, yet I never engaged with or saw evidence of such assessment. -- The process felt predetermined rather than independently investigated. -- Communication was slow, reactive, and lacked transparency throughout. As a long-standing customer paying premiums in good faith, I expect claims decisions to be based on verified findings and transparent processes, not assumptions or speculation. I am currently considering escalating the matter further to the National Financial Ombud Scheme. Supporting correspondence and assessor communication available on request.

This is my 2nd letter which I am posting on hello peter. My first letter I posted last week, the 7th, in which I already explained what I am going to explain now again, for a 2nd time. The reason why I am posting this letter for a 2nd time, I just want to show you the service that I get from PSG, regarding the cancellation of a contract, and my money. I will explain.1) I did have a policy with PSG which covered my motorcycle.2) On 25/02/2026 I cancelled this policy. I will attach the email which I sent to Anna, an employee of PSG. On 25/02/2026 I sent an email to you, Anna, and explained to you that I don't WANT to cancel my 2 policies with PSG, byt that it was out of NEED that I had to cancel my 2 policies with PSG. I attached a copy of this email below. gerda Venter <***>Wed, Feb 25, 9:09 AM to Anna Good morning Anna hope that you are well. SUBJECT: PSGHD***AEO2G (this is the policy which I had for my motorcycle which I cancelled) PSGPSA***AE4Q61) NO. My answer is NO to the new Santam policy. I do not accept this policy, and I am not going to sign it.2) I hereby cancel BOTH my 2 PSG policies now, of which the detailed numbers are above. I will explain.3) I don't WANT to cancel the policies, but I HAVE to. The reason is "the cost of living". Currently you are debiting my account with 2 amounts, which are R1722.58, and R482.51, which gives you a total of R2205.09. I got a quote from Virseker. The total amount that they quote me is R1573.85. This is R631.26 cheaper than the amount that you claim from me. I gave Virseker the exact same items which I gave you to insure. I know that your Santam is about R300.00 cheaper, but still I will be paying less. WHY must I look at my own personal financial status? Because financially I am becoming poorer. My medical aid just increased by 9.8%. My levies went up by 8%. The average increase is 5.5%. My pension increased by 2.9%.I must manage my personal finances, in such a manner that I can still try and afford things. This is the reason why I am cancelling my 2 PSG policies with you. I hope that you understand my situation. Regards Etienne Venter 3) On 25/02/2026 you, Anna sent me an email, which I quote below, in which Anna, the PSG employees acknowledged my request.Anna Mazomba <***>Feb 25, 2026, 9:37 AMto Louisa, me Good Morning Gerda Trust you are well. We are sad to see that you want to cancel even if our Santam premium is cheaper, however we do understand your reasons. Please confirm from when should the policy cancel? From 1 March? 4) On 26/02/2026, because I had not yet responded to your email, you sent me a 2nd email also on the 25th of February, asking me to confirm WHEN should the policy, which is supposed to POLICIES, be cancelled.elled 2 policies, be cancelled. I assumed that, because I already gave you notice of cancellation of both policies on the 25th of the month, that it was not necessary for me to specifically confirm 1 March. Be that as it may. 5) On 26/02/2026, you, Anna, sent me another email which I will quote below. Anna Mazomba <***>Feb 26, 2026, 9:24 AMto me Good Morning Gerda (again this email is addressed to my wife Gerda, who actually has got nothing to do with any of these policies) Trust you are well. I need you to please respond to the below mail, reason being that the debit orders are already submitted to the bank for March therefore the debit will still go off, unless you stop it before OR reverse it after it goes off OR wait for it to go off then we request refund which will only be paid back to you after the 10th of March. This is if you need the policy to cancel 1st March 6) On 01/03/2026 I rep**** to you, Anna. Here is my email which I sent to you.gerda Venter <***>Mar 1, 2026, 9:57 PMto Anna Yes, please cancel. (Here I confirmed the DATE on which my policy must be cancelled). 7) On 02/03026 Viseker debited my account, in the amount of R1578.18, which meant that I was insured. 8) Still on 02/03/2026, PSG debited my account with R482.51, although I already cancelled this policy. For me, this was OK, because I cancelled my policy late, and you said that I will get a refund from the 10th of March. 9) On 01/04/2026, PSG AGAIN debited my account for a SECOND TIME the amount of R482.51, for a policy which I already cancelled 5-6 weeks ago, which cancellation was confirmed by PSG, but did not implement it.10) On Monday 04/04/2026, PSG AGAIN, FOR A THIRD TIME, DEDUCTED FROM MY ACCOUNT THE AMOUNT R482.51, for a policy which I already cancelled about 11 weeks before, but it seems to me as if this cancelled policy is still ALIVE with PSG. Luckily for me, there were insufficient funds in my account, so the bank refused to give PSG this money, but still the bank charges me R10.00 for this. But now who is responsible to pay this R10.00?The reason why I am posting this email again, is on the advice of the person from the bank who suggested that I must post this on hello peter. I suppose that I am going to receive a 2nd letter of apology from NOBODY at PSG, who again is going to compile 2nd investigation. I just cannot attach any credibility to this reply from PSG.COMPLIMENT. I just want to compliment Anna Mazomba, an employee of PSG. I got to know her about 4 years ago, when we communicated via emails. For me, she was, or is, a STAR. COMPLIMENT to HELLO PETER. Thank you so much for creating this platform. I really appreciate it. gerda Venter <***> Mon, May 4, 2:13 PM (3 days ago) to Anna, me Good morning Anna I hope that you are well, because I am not well. The purpose of this email is to ask you to refund me of all my money which PSG has debited from my account. Failing to do so, I am going to post this email on "hello peter". I will explain. 1) On 02/02/2026 Louisa 1st sent me an email, which in short refers to that my existing All Risk policy MAY me changed for a new Santam policy. I did copy a portion of her email to me which I attach below: "Louisa de Lange <***> Dear Mr Venter Important Notice: Your current Guardrisk Insurance Company (PSA Group scheme) policy with the option to take up a new Santam policy Your current policy number: PSGPSA*** Your new quotation number PSGSP*** As your insurance adviser, our commitment is to provide you with innovative risk management solutions, ongoing value, and access to the best possible service and products at competitive rates. Your Options? (PLEASE NOTE HERE THAT I HAVE GOT AN OPTION) From 1 March 2026, you have the option to take out a new insurance policy with Santam Limited, a product provider of PSG Wealth Financial Planning (Pty) Ltd. Your new Santam policy number will be PSGSP*** The inception date of your Santam policy will be as agreed with your PSG adviser. – 1 March 2026 Quotation process Attached is your Santam Personal lines quotation. If you want to proceed with this option, you will have to accept it via electronic acceptance. Should you wish not to take up the Santam Limited quotation, or if you have any questions about other available options, please contact our office or your PSG insurance adviser. We are here to support you and ensure you have all the information you need to make the best decision for your short-term insurance needs. Below is all relevant policy related information/documentation for your attention: Your new Santam policy schedule within 31 days from inception 2) Still on 02/02/2026. Louisa phoned me later and asked me about this email. I rep**** that I did receive it and that I was still reading and I want to check for more mistakes. Again she informed me that PSA will no longer be assisting me in any way with my policy. 3) Still on 02/02/2026. I sent an email to Louisa and asked for a copy of the letter from the PSA which says that the PSA will no longer assist me. Here is a copy of my email to Louisa. gerda Venter <***> Feb 2, 2026, 2:37 PM to Louisa Middag Louisa Baie dankie vir jou epos. Sal jy asb vir my die brief epos van VSA dat hulle nie meer vir ons gaan by staan nie. Ek is besig om deur die ander goed te gaan. Daar is n paar foute wat ek net wil regmaak. Groete Etienne 4) Still on 02/02/2026. Because of several things which I was not comfortable with, which I am not going to discuss now, I decided to take a chance and phone Virseker, in order to get a quote. All the information which I gave the employee of Virseker, was the same informarion which I gave PSG. Virseker's quote was R631.26 CHEAPER, than the R2205.09 which was debited by PSG. Especially in today's times, looking at the current "cost of living", I decided to accept this quote, and I app**** for my cover, and that my 1st premium of R1573.85 must start to be deducted from 01 March 2026. 5) On 03/02/2026 Louisa rep**** to me that she will ask them (PSA) to send her a letter. I attached a copy of Louisa's email which she sent to me. Louisa de Lange <***> Feb 3, 2026, 8:03 AM to me Gerda (Gerda is my wife. We share the same email address) Ek vra gou vir hull of hull vir ons stuur UNTIL TODAY, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY LETTER WHICH ORIGINATES FROM THE PSA, NOR HAVE I RECEIVED ANY FURTHER CORRESPONDENCE FROM ANYBODY, LOUISA INCLUDED. 5) On 25/02/2026 I sent an email to you, Anna, and explained to you that I don't WANT to cancel my 2 policies with PSG, byt that it was out of NEED that I had to cancel my 2 policies with PSG. THE AMOUNT OF R1483.80, WAS THE AMOUNT FOR WHICH I WAS QUOTED ON THE NEW SANTAM POLICY, WHICH I SPECIFICALLY SAID THAT I DO NOT WANT THIS POLICY AT ALL. SO WHY DID PSG DEBIT MY ACCOUNT IN THE AMOUNT OF R1483.80, FOR A POLICY WHICH I DID NOT APPROVE? 13) On 01/04/2026, PSG AGAIN debited my account for the amount of R482.51, for a policy which I already cancelled 5-6 weeks ago. At home I did put a REVERSE on this amount, but later received a letter from ABSA which stated that this was not possible. I immediately went to my nearest ABSA branch in order to put a STOP on PSG debiting my account for the amount of R1722.58, or R1483.80. At the bank I sat in the queue for Customer Services. A person whom I believed may have been an employee of ABSA, asked me why I was there. I said that I wanted to put a stop on a debit order. The person asked me whether it was ABSA who implemented this debit order, or was it another place. I rep**** that it was PSG who implemented this debit order. Immediately this person rep****:"Please do not mention that name(this is PSG) to me. Do you know how many complaints we have received regarding this PSG. Because it was PSG who implemented this debit order, it is only they(PSG) who can stop this debit order, and not us here by the bank. The best advice that I can give you, is to put this whole problem of yours on "hello peter", so that the BOSSES can read your complaint, then maybe something will happen". DISGUSTING. I WAS SO DISGUSTED TO HEAR FROM SOMEBODY WHOM I BELIEVED WHO WORKED AT A BANK, AN INSTITUTION WHO PRIMARILY WORKS WITH MONEY AND DEBIT ORDERS, TO ADVICE ME TO RATHER PUT MY COMPLAINT ON HELLO PETER. I HAVE BEEN A CLIENT OF PSG FOR 20 YEARS, AND IT WAS MY FIRST TIME TO HEAR THIS. It was around November/December 2006, when I bought my first Harley Davidson in Menlyn, Pretoria, when I got to know Louisa, and talked to her. This week Wednesday the 6th of May 2026, at 17h00, I am going to check my account to see whether PSG has refunded me with R2448.82. If not, I am going to post this email as it is on "hello peter". Anna, thank you so much for everything that you have done for me. I really appreciate it very much. Regards Etienne Venter

gerda Venter <***> Mon, May 4, 2:13 PM (3 days ago) to Anna, me Good morning Anna I hope that you are well, because I am not well. I attached a copy of this email below. gerda Venter <***> Wed, Feb 25, 9:09 AM to Anna Good morning Anna I hope that you are well. SUBJECT: PSGHD***AEO2G PSGPSA***AE4Q6 1) NO. My answer is NO to the new Santam policy. I do not accept this policy, and I am not going to sign it. 2) I hereby cancel BOTH my 2 PSG policies now,of which the detailed numbers are above. I will explain. 3) I don't WANT to cancel the policies, but I HAVE to. My pension increased by 2.9%. I must manage my personal finances, in such a manner that I can still try and afford things. This is the reason why I am cancelling my 2 PSG policies with you. I hope that you understand my situation. Regards Etienne Venter 6) On 25/02/2026 you, Anna sent me an email, which I quote below. Anna Mazomba <***> Feb 25, 2026, 9:37 AM to Louisa, me Good Morning Gerda Trust you are well. We are sad to see that you want to cancel even if our Santam premium is cheaper, however we do understand your reasons. Please confirm from when should the policy cancel? From 1 March? 7) On 26/02/2026, because I had not yet responded to your email, you sent me a 2nd email also on the 25th of February, asking me to confirm WHEN should the policy, which is supposed to POLICIES, be cancelled.elled 2 policies, be cancelled. I assumed that, because I already gave you notice of cancellation of both policies on the 25th of the month, that it was not necessary for me to specifically confirm 1 March. Be that as it may. 8) On 26/02/2026, you, Anna, sent me another email which I will quote below. Anna Mazomba <***> Feb 26, 2026, 9:24 AM to me Good Morning Gerda (again this email is addressed to my wife Gerda, who actually has got nothing to do with any of these policies) Trust you are well. I need you to please respond to the below mail, reason being that the debit orders are already submitted to the bank for March therefore the debit will still go off, unless you stop it before OR reverse it after it goes off OR wait for it to go off then we request refund which will only be paid back to you after the 10th of March. This is if you need the policy to cancel 1st March 9) On 01/03/2026 I rep**** to you, Anna. Here is my email which I sent to you. gerda Venter <***> Mar 1, 2026, 9:57 PM to Anna Yes, please cancel. 10) On 02/03026 Viseker debited my account, in the amount of R1578.18, which meant that I was insured. 11) Still on 02/03/2026, PSG debited my account with R482.51. For me, this was OK, because I cancelled my policy late, and you said that I will get a refund from the 10th of March. 12) Still on 02/03/2026, PSG debited my account with R1483.80. THIS WAS NOT OK. I have since placed a tyre claim, it's very saddening that one has to always beg for update, I asked Johan update in the morning at 8:14 and he said he was going to follow up, no feedback since then, the question is such a small claim and a person has to beg for updates, does he understand how it feels to be driving around with a spare wheel, what happened if i get another incident - does it really take this long for a tyre claim to be sorted
