OK, I sometimes se very negative reviews on Telkom. Here is my experience: Prompt Service at the Worcester branch. I like the way they come outside when you stand in a queue and find out what your query is.... More than once they resolved it even without me needing to enter the shop. There mobile offers are affordable and I switched from my previous provider to save costs. They have upped my DSL service (speed) several times without any costs. I live on the platteland, so other options are not many.
I was not really surprised to read a lot of negative reviews on Cape Consumers. Being a member for more than 30 years, I realized this year after making a few calculations, that the bonus is far less than even the money known as surcharge levy which we had to pay every month in advance. Add the annual card fee and B-Smart membership fee and you are actually losing out. So I cancelled our membership, only to hear that we can only cancel after paying the last amount, which I am totally prepared to comply to, but there is no reaction to my simple requests to give me details about my spend and the banking particulars. I also do not experience a friendly customer-friendly reaction to my requests. As if they do not care to lose customers......
I bought a second hand X-Trail from Worcester Nissan in October 2018. It is a 2016 model. I was told repeatedly and with great enthusiasm that the car still has the remaining part of the service plan, which would be 2 services, 60 000 and 90 000 respectively kilometers or one year if I could not ride all those kilometers. I realized from the start that I would not use the 2 services, but was determined to at least use one service before the expiry of the 3 year period. In January I phoned the saleman and asked him the exact date on which the service plan would expire and he phoned me back to give me the date of 4 August 2019. In July, we went on holiday and I made an appointment for 11 July, after our return. The lady who made the appointment, remarked that that is still valid, because the service must be in the month before the expiry date. On the day of my arrival, the requested some more info on the service plan and I referred them to the salesman. Thereafter I had numerous phone calls from the salesman in which he vehemently denied that he promised me that the car had a service plan. His excuse is that I I was confused with the general warranty. I assured him that there is no confusion. I know the difference between a service plan and a warranty. He talked about the service plan on the first day when we looked at the cars and again on the day the car was delivered. I have at least two family members that were with me and whom can confirm the same. Nevertheless to say, I took the car back and promised them that I well never do any transaction with Worcester Nissan again. The salesman can deny as much as he wants, I know the truth. The lady at the service counter admitted that they get much trouble because salesmen make promises on which they cannot deliver. To go a bit further, I was also not happy with the purchase transaction either. The car was delivered with a cracked bumper, a badly repaired bump in the right rear door and a big chip on the right front door, of which I could only see the last on my first inspection. They still believe that I had a good deal, but it cost me R17 000 to get that car in the condition that I wanted it, while I could get a better deal for only R9 000 more with them. OK, I know that I am partly to be blamed for my buy, but all happened so fast, with subtle pressure and telling me how good this buy is, making me believe that I got a good discount by buying this specific car, and rushing through the deal. It is easy to subtly manipulate: arrive at 12:00 when I was promised that they will be here at 9:00, then tell me that I must decide, because they must go to the traffic department within an hour before they drive back to Worcester.
I have a problem with Avangate Bitdefender because (1) they automatically renewed my licence fee in spite of my request that they do not do that and that I disabled that option (2) they store my credit card particulars on a place where I cannot log into and remove it (3) I have submitted my complain about that and do not get any feedback other than automated responses that they will give attention (4) I am obviously dealing with a robot and no real people come back to me to give feedback (5) we need support on some installing issues and no-one responds to that either, meaning that we have a product with no effective use of it. (5) I have big problems with this automatic renewal because that ignores my human rights to decide when, where and at what price I want to buy their product IF I want it AND being a South African subjected to the weakened rand, I can buy the product locally at 4 times less than paying in dollars, and I did that, but they also renewed my licence at their price without my consent.
