This is the worst company ever. Do not use them. I sent a parcel overnight express. It was NOT delivered the next day. And the day after it should have been delivered they now say that their truck is hijacked , no police report, no insurance. And no refund of the delivery fee. I have just handed them a R 3245 parcel that they just lost. It was never going to be delivered. UA307702700. Their attitude is bad, they could not care less. They take no responsibility and basically cannot be bothered even to talk to you.
Goods arrived by ship to Durban harbour and were handed to Thuetainers for them to transport the goods to Cape Town. There were 68 boxes. Only 67 arrived. No one at Thrutainers has any interest what so ever in finding out what has happened or has followed up, or bothered to find out where the box is and how it got lost. When you call the cape town phone number it routs you though to durban as the cape town phone is broken. No one in durban knows what goes on and no one calls back. They have not filed a police report so the box has not been reported as stolen, they have simply lost it. It has now been TWO WEEKS.
We travelled to America and Brazil and took out a silver package with AIG travel insurance. We had a Iphone stolen. In the policy on page 3 it says that there is an excess on lost baggage and extra excess on cell phones. However, AIG says that there is a limit of R 750 in total for stolen baggage and cell phones. So I would like to WARN other consumers. Do NOT use AIG for your travel insurance as you really are not insured. There is no clear statement in the policy that give the limit, it is made to look like it is the excess that is R 750 not the payout limit. So if you travel with laptops, cellphones and other baggage AIG will pay out R 750 if it all gets stolen. So really, I recommend that you use an honest insurance company instead.<br> <br> We have asked AIG to give us a written answer to our claim so that we can show the ombudsman both sides of the story. They refuse to give it to us in writing. So please do not EVER use this company.<br> <br>
