I have repeadely written to Thrutainers to explain costs for handling the logistics of 4 pallets (7.6 sq meters) which cost about R25k to ship as LCL from New Zealand to South Africa but R34k for Thrutainers to handle local offload, customes processing and delivery from the port in Cape Town to a local storage facility in Cape town. But I get no response.
I am once again blown away by the quality of care from Momentum Health. My Wife has had stage 4 breast cancer for the past 3 years and Momentum have approved some of the latest biological drugs in 2020 that can make a massive difference to keeping cancer away. Last week it took them just a few hours to approve another life saving treatment - stereotactic radiation .. even our oncologist was surprised - he doesn't see that sort of efficiency and care often from medical aids. On top of this their rewards program, Multiply - saved me over R20,000 last year on Mango flights (up to 50% off), huge discounts on my life and disability insurance (up to 60%) and plenty of shopping discounts ... all I had to do was stay active, make sure my car and house is safe and make good financial decisions. I can assure you I don't work for momentum - I'm just an extremely happy client. Momentum - yet again are setting the bar for how medical aids should be.
I have been with absa for 23 years since 1996 and I have always appreciated the good service I've received from them and the excellent interest rates. But my experience these past 2 weeks left me wondering if this is the bank I should stay with. I'm currently on a Premium account and have my cheque account, credit card and home loan with Absa. Last month I asked Absa if I could move my credit card payment date to pay the full outstanding amount from the 28th of the month to the beginning of the month as I have a new job that pays on the 1st of the month rather than the 25th of the month. The agent on the phone said this would be fine and organised the date change. At the beginning of this month, I received a statement and I saw that I was charged a huge amount of interest even though I paid the full outstanding amount on the new date. I phoned Absa today and the agent said that I should have paid the full amount at the end of the month to avoid the interest penalty and was very rude on the phone when I said that at I was not informed by the previous agent that there would be an interest penalty for moving the payment date. The previous agent that organised the date change did not warn me to pay the outstanding amount before the new date. She actually informed me that the full amount will still go off at the end of the month as it was only 2 days to go until the full amount should be paid. So I assumed there was nothing more I needed to do. This is not the service I expect from Absa ... after more than 2 decades of being a loyal client. If they don't at least refund the interest I lost, even though I paid the full amount on the new payable date, I will definitely start looking at a more customer focussed bank. David
We installed a Telkom ADSL business line in Ocean View, Cape Town at Ocean View high school at the end of last year and the quality of this line has been awful over the past 5 weeks. We had no response to a helpdesk request on the web. After phoning Telkom - a technician eventually came out 2 weeks ago. He said there was a problem with the line but has been unable to fix it. It has been going down and up continuously. This line is a critical to the running of a cooperative operating in Ocean View and they have not been able to carry out their business activities because of this ongoing problem.
<p>I just want to thank Momentum Health and specifically the Oncology unit for going the extra mile after my wife was diagnosed with HER2+ breast cancer. When you are facing cancer in your family, the last thing you want to be worrying about is trying to get your medical aid to ensure everything is in place so you can start treatment. Momentum Health Oncology were even helping me with a required option upgrade to ensure that all the drugs we required were within the prescribed minimum benefits. </p> <p> </p> <p>Its easy to get clouded by free movie tickets and gym member benefits when what you really need is a medical aid thats on your side when a real crisis hits - well done Momentum Health</p>
