I have been an off-and-on customer of this long-standing auction house since the days when old man John Mills and his family ran it. (They all relocated to Australia.) Since then Lynn has been the front-of-desk face and this past week she really did me a very big favour. I had misheard the days of drop-off and arrived on a 'non' day with the bakkie loaded and the driver pressed for time. She was decent enough to allow us to offload and accept the goods for sale. This is against policy, but knowing what that auction house stands for, I wasn't surprised at her kindness.
Volunteers at Rosedale (SA Legion), many of whom are Sassa pensioners, give of their time and what money they can spare to buy bread which gets spread with love - and peanut butter and jam! - and delivered to Ladles of Love. Funds were low and so we sought the help of Mr Fred ****rell, director of both Pick 'n Pay Rondebosch and Observatory. Expecting at best a few loaves, you can imagine our surprise and joy when we got the call to come and collect 60! You are indeed "'n mens", Mr ****rell, not only for your wonderful donation, but also for recognising that Ladles of Love is such a worthy cause and deserves to e supported.
Having moved from the West Coast back to the city 5 years ago I was chuffed that Kevin Wilson, owner of both the town and Weskus Mall Pick 'n Pay outlets in Vredenburg remembered me. I had a big favour to ask of him, which he not only fulfilled but also refused to accept the cost, saying, "You don't have to make the payment. It comes from the heart'. I rarely see anything positive written or said about the Pick 'n Pay chain, but this time through a caring, decent, manager who recognises customer service for what it is they deserve every accolade in the book. Kevin, thank you - and Rachel - for coming to my aid. One day I hope to be able to return the gesture.
Social media is full of negativity so a good deed like I experienced today is like a breath of fresh air. Dropped watch off at Findlay's with the request to change the strap. Collected it an hour later only to be told 'no charge'. It took time for that work to be done and time is money, but they clearly consider the customer's needs to be so much more important. Top-class service delivery.
As promised, Devashni from Nedbank's KZN call centre, called me first thing yesterday morning and took me step-by-step through the process of renewing an up-and-coming investment electronically. Her patience was quite something and I could sense the smile in her voice .... nothing was too much trouble. That finished, she then asked if I would like to learn the new banking system (that they will be moving all account-holders over to in due course) and, again, the patience of an angel. I only have good things to say about this staffer, especially when dealing with an elderly person (me!); she spoke slowly #30in30? and clearly and I am confident her teaching has stoo me in good stead. Thank you, Devashni.
Top rate service from Narrameen at Pick 'n Pay St Peter's Quare, Observatory. I questioned why I had not been rewarded the advertised discount on certain items I had purchased. First problem was the cashier had not reminded me to swipe my loyalty card - and I had forgotten (damn it! I am old!); second was incorrectly marked milk sachets when in facf the error was mine. No problem for Narrameen: she ran the basket of goods once again with the correct prices, all the time smiling and apologising for making me wait. I've always said Pick 'n Pay has the edge when it comes to customer service and her handling my issue just proves it once again.
Ever thought what would happen if you were involved in an accident - how would the rescuers know who you are or where you come from? This gadget does the job one hundred percent.; made to wrap around the seat belt, secured with Velcro, inside is printed information of your choosing: who the driver is, who's the first ICE (In Case of an Emergency), the contact numbers and other essential or useful information (e.g. Do Not Resuscitate). I ordered 2 from Veronica Bezuidenhout and no sooner said than completed (I chose to collect (instead of courier) so I could meet this enterpreneur. The work was so professionally done and I encourage you to #SupportLocal - you too will be thrilled with the work Contact details info@mysafety comesfirst.co.za
I met Justin when he was installing new systems at SA Legion's offices in Rosebank, Cape Town and decided there and then I was going to buy my next system from him. Something about his quietness, knowledge and easy attitude made me feel very comfortable. Well, yes, I did buy a new PC but needed time with him to take me through a few of the facilities, which he did with no fuss and best of all, no charge. I love my system but most of all, I think my SP is rather special as he definitely looks after his clients' needs.
For the past 4 years I have been a customer of Webb & Savoy Pharmacy which has been around for as long as I can remember but, I was told about 6 months ago, is in the process of being taken over. It should be closed down if their service is anything to go on. Through hellopeter.com I complimented Warren earlier last year on personal service, but since then things have just gone from bad to non-existent: medication hasn’t arrived/supplier out of stock/promise to deliver by ... the list goes on and on. And the worst of it is that they claim payment from my medical aid before delivery. What a cheek! They clearly don’t need my business and as my ‘scrips are due (did anyone remind me? Oh no … per chance I called to ask) I will be moving my business to another nearby outlet in the hopes that they know what customer service is all about. Incidentally, if there was a zero star rating I would have given it zilch/nada/nix - and while you're at it, surf the other ratings sites.
My experience with iStores (Cavendish and V&A) has always been positive, but yesterday I had service at another level. Nameen Wilson at Canal Walk attended to my 'problem' which was related to updating that required an uninstall and then re-install plus settings for my mail were playing silly ******s. OK, I know that this is their job but, hey! So quick, so efficient and so friendly ... I am actually looking for an excuse to go back just to have a great interaction with someone you understands customer service again. While I was there, Jo from EL came in and, pointing to Nameen, said "I won't let anyone else touch my equipment but him". Loved the new shop, by the way.
