PayFast

Talking to a consultant over chatbot, that just doesn't get back to you
Payfast provides the opportunity online with chatbot which would be wonderful if: when you choose to speak to a consultant, you actually get to speak to a consultant until the problem is solved. They clearly also do not check if opened chats are solved and closed off. This way they can ensure all calls are closed off. There is no way to contact them besides chatbot which clearly doesnn't work. When raising a query, they may respond after an hour or more. I have clients to see, I cannot sit there and watch my phone for an hour or more until a consultant responds to me 1 to 6 hours later, or in my case not at all. Please add some human touch and logic to your customer service.

Vodacom

**** artists
In March 2024, I cancelled my contract at Vodacom Greenstone, only to find that it was not cancelled and my account was debited. I was then told that I have to call into Vodacom and follow the prompts, which I did 2 or 3 times, yet my account was still debited and I am now blacklisted by Vodacom. So the prompts lead you to the correct destination to cancel your contract, HOWEVER it is not cancelled. At the end of the call the robot says "Your contract is cancelled or terminated" (or whatever it says) and hangs up the call. Therefore not leaving you with a reference number as proof that you did call. And Vodacom continued to debit my account another 3 times after I kept returning the debit orders. So the way I see it, not leaving you with a reference number is done deliberately so you cannot prove you cancelled your contract and they continue to get money out of you (**** artists). And when you don't pay they blacklist you, because they have a system that is there only to cheat you out of money.

Are FNB above the law?

I had a loan with FNB more than 17 years ago. They handed it over to attorneys who I settled with and paid. They now say, they have no record of the payment, they say no attorneys ever dealt with it, and I must prove from 17 years ago that I paid it.....really? 17 years ago?

Legally I only have to keep documentation for 8 years so I am not sure how they expect me to prove something from 17 years ago and are holding this against my name after 17 years which is surely also illegal. To the best of my knowledge they can only hold it against your name for 5 years. Did I mention 17 years....later? What have they been doing for the last 17 years to try and get their money if they truly believe that "I did not pay it"....they did nothing!!

Also I moved to the UK in 2013 and I definitely threw all my paperwork away back then, but if I had of known that FNB thought I did not pay them, I could have kept the documentation or at least proved I had paid it.

Are FNB above the law?
