We booked at Mandela Rhodes place in Cape Town CBD from the 18th April 2026 - 22 April 2026 with my family, in apartment K602. We were told that our deposit will be refunded within 14 working days. Till today we I not received the money. When I enquire about my deposit, the are saying that there is a delay in processing payments and they don't know when my money will be refunded and based on the Hello Peter reviews, this place does not refund people their deposit monies.

Good day We were 3 friends booked at Mandela Rhodes place Hotel at long street Apartments in Cape town CBD at room number 702.. when you arrive they tell you about securing a deposit of R1000 before handing over a key which was not mentioned on a booking site on top of the amount we paid for booking the place.. we booked from 28 to 30 March 2026.. we checked out and we requested for our Deposit back they mention we need to wait 14 working days.. we tried to make contact with them but we get blue ticked its been almost 4 weeks without our deposit back,, what type of ****mer hotel is this and No we didnt break nothing… we want our deposit back!!!!! We have been so patient sorry…

I stayed in Mandela rhodes place paid R1000 breakage fees but still waiting for my refund 14 days later. There wasnt even descent cutlury there Elize and her husband Ryan running this **** show, dont ever book there, most disgusting nd untidy place ever i will be logging this with consumer ombudsman and tourism board, they have faults with there apartment and wen I complained a maintenence guy was sent up the next morning while myself and my sister was in our pajamas our husbands where at work and I told her we are woman alone we cant allow a strange man around us knowing we in pj's to fix ur **** up which u shud have done before letting the place out.no Privacy and respect or others religions or even that we paid for two days to come fix ur mess up. Broken aircons, cracked windows, dirty microwaves i got pics of al of this

Absolutely unacceptable experience with Mandela Rhodes Place Hotel. Booking.com clearly states that the R1000 deposit will be refunded within 14 days, yet I am still waiting with no resolution. Every time I follow up, there is another excuse, “high volume of enquiries” or “accounts department backlog.” Enough is enough. If you advertise a 14-day refund policy, then honour it. This constant delaying feels dishonest, misleading, and completely unprofessional. Customers should not have to chase their own money while being fed the same excuses over and over. Sort this out immediately.
