Lottoland Promo Spam
Extremely ********* company that completely ignores opt-out requests. Over the past 7+ days, I’ve sent every variation of ‘STOP’, ‘OPT OUT’, etc. via SMS reply. I even contacted their live chat support directly and was explicitly told my number would be removed from promotional SMS within 48 hours.
More than 48 hours later, I received yet another unwanted promo message. This is unacceptable—opt-outs should be handled immediately via automated Do Not Contact (DNC) lists; there’s no valid reason for manual delays or continued bombardment. This clearly violates POPIA Section 69 requirements for direct marketing: messages must include easy opt-out methods, and objections must be honoured promptly. I’m going to report this to the Information Regulator for investigation, as persistent unsolicited SMS after explicit opt-outs is ********.
I just signed up recently and will be deleting my account immediately. Poor customer service like this makes me question how they’d handle bigger issues (e.g., if a jackpot win ever occurred).
Avoid this company if you value your privacy and don’t want endless spam.

You are absolutely right that you should not have to ask multiple times or chase us via live chat to stop receiving promotional SMS. This is not the standard we aim for, and I understand why this feels like a serious breach of your trust.
We’ve investigated what happened here. Your number was unfortunately not correctly captured and added to our "Do Not Contact" list when you first raised this with our support team, and our SMS system also failed to recognise your opt-out replies in the way it should have. That combination meant you continued to receive messages after being told you would be removed within 72 hours. We take full responsibility for this not being sent and removed and have addressed this internally.
Your number has now been manually added to our promotional "Do Not Contact" list, and you should no longer receive any marketing SMS from us. If you do receive anything further, please contact us directly with a screenshot so we can investigate and fix it immediately as this should not be happening.
