la parada
Based on recent customer reviews, La Parada presents a sharply divided customer experience across its branches. Patrons consistently praise the lively atmosphere, music, and vibe, with some highlighting tasty food and fair portions. However, a recurring theme is severely slow and inattentive service, with customers describing extended waits for drinks and meals, incorrect or missing ingredients in dishes, and unprofessional staff conduct. Several reviewers also raise serious concerns about food safety, management responsiveness, and the handling of complaints, suggesting that operational and service standards are falling short of expectations across multiple locations.

My 2nd visit to La Parada, Emperor's Palace branch was very impressive! The food was delicious, service top notch and it was refreshing to be served by young Black South Africans from the young managers to the waitrons. The managers are very attentive they take the time to come to your table to find out if you are happy with the service. I can see that La Parada takes customer service very seriously. Thank you La Parada, Emperor's Palace, for the delicious food, a beautiful reasturant with great ambiance, most of all for assisting to bring down the high number of youth unemployment in our country.

Experience Date: 21 April 2026 Location: La Parada Mandela Square I am writing this to express my absolute disappointment and distress following a meal at La Parada Mandela Square. I visited the restaurant on April 21st and ordered sushi. While the taste was mediocre, the physical consequences that followed have been devastating. Immediately after the meal, I had to use the restaurant’s restroom. By the following morning, I was suffering from intense stomach pain and diarrhea. This escalated into a bleeding fissure which has since progressed into hemorrhoids. After seeking medical attention, my doctor confirmed the diagnosis and has advised that surgical removal is now necessary. This has completely disrupted my life, leaving me unable to perform my daily routine or work. What is perhaps most frustrating is the lack of urgency from management. I spoke with the manager, Nthokozo, on Monday, who instructed me to forward my complaint via email directly to the Mandela Square branch for escalation. Despite following these instructions and sending multiple emails to both the branch and Head Office, I have received zero correspondence or acknowledgment. I trusted this establishment for a safe dining experience, and instead, I have been left with a serious medical condition and mounting surgical costs. The lack of accountability and communication is unacceptable. I expect a formal response and a resolution to this matter immediately.

The music was exceptional and created an amazing vibe. Unfortunately, the service needs improvement, drinks arrived late and warm, and the food was also delayed, impacting what could have been a great night.

On Saturday the 3rd of Jan I had decided on going to La parada waterfront with friends , the waiting time was long and the waiter named queen took forever to serve us, didn’t come checking us if we were okay, moving shortly 30 mins prior the bill coming , one of the cleaners and queen came to our table , and the cleaner bump the Hubbly and the coal burned my thigh and my dress too, has holes all over my body and the only thing they wanted to do was give me a 200 off the bill, which didn’t make any difference or sense to my ability because had it been worse what would they have done Only then when I told the manager that I’m going to report it to hello Peter she wanted to take matters into her own hands by then I was already angry 😡 and nothing would work. Kindly get back with an update , it would be appreciated if you would

Dear Management / Owners of La Parada Rosebank, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the extremely disappointing and unprofessional service I experienced at La Parada Rosebank on Christmas Day. I had a confirmed booking for 4:30 PM. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the waitress at the entrance informed us that the restaurant was very full and that some staff members did not want to take any more orders due to being overwhelmed and because patrons were allegedly being rude to the waiters. We were then told that if we chose to sit down, it would be “at our own risk.” Despite this warning, we decided to sit down. It took approximately 15 minutes for the same waitress to bring us menus, after which she left without further engagement. After another 30 minutes of waiting, she asked another waitress to assist us. That waitress openly refused, laughed, and continued speaking in her mother tongue with colleagues, before walking away. This entire interaction happened right in front of us and made it very clear that we were not welcome or going to be assisted. At that point, we decided to leave, as it was evident that the staff had no intention of serving us. This experience reflects extremely poor management and a lack of basic customer service etiquette. If the restaurant is short-staffed, bookings should not be accepted. Furthermore, staff should be trained to handle pressure professionally. Laughing, refusing service, and openly displaying unwillingness to assist customers in front of them is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. This incident has left a very bad taste in my mouth, and I can confidently say that I will never spend a single cent of my hard-earned money at a restaurant that allows such disrespectful behaviour and demonstrates such poor management skills. I hope the owners take this complaint seriously and address both staff conduct and management practices to prevent other customers from experiencing the same treatment. Yours sincerely Caren A Very Disappointed Customer
