Hyundai South Africa Woodmead
Based on recent customer reviews, Hyundai South Africa Woodmead receives sharply divided feedback. Customers consistently praise individual sales consultants by name, highlighting friendly, patient and professional assistance during the car buying journey, with several first time buyers describing seamless and exciting handovers. However, a recurring theme on the negative side centres on the workshop and after sales experience, where customers raise concerns about unexplained diagnostic and repair charges, warranty disputes, unresolved mechanical faults, poor communication from management, and a perceived lack of transparency around finance breakdowns and licensing issues.

Dear Peter, I purchased a Hyundai i20 2020 model on 22 November. Within one month of purchase, I noticed that the reverse gear makes noise and reported the matter in January. I was booked for inspection in February. At the dealership I was informed to pay R1100 for diagnosis and later advised that repairs would cost R13,400, stating that this is outside warranty. I would like to formally request that this vehicle be repaired under the Consumer Protection Act Section 56, as the defect was reported within six months of purchase and existed shortly after delivery. I am currently still driving the vehicle with the same fault because I cannot afford the repair cost. Please confirm urgently when the vehicle can be booked for repair, failing which I will escalate the matter further with the Motor Industry Ombudsman and National Consumer Commission. Kind regards

After a bad experience at another Hyundai branch I had completely lost all the excitement about buying my first car, that changed after I spoke to Phumzile Sekele from Hyundai Woodmead. She was so lovely and friendly. She worked so hard and getting me the best deal ever and not only that, we spoke on a Wednesday where promised me that by the end of the week i would be driving, I didn't fully believe her. But Friday came and I was smiling in FIRST CAR!!!!!!!. Phumzile if you see this, thank you. You didnt just sell me a car, you gave me back all the excitement accompanied by a lovely sales experience.

A very ****ty service with Hyundai @woodmead.This is for the third time I’m having a bad experience with them. I kept giving them the benefit of doubt but this time around was the last nail. I will never set foot there again.

I'm still fuming about my experience with Hyundai Woodmead. Last year, I took my 2023 Hyundai i10 Motion in for a 30,000km service and was charged R3400. Fast forward to this year, I had the same car serviced at Hyundai Vereeniging at 45,000kmeand was charged R3088. What's puzzling is that the second service, which covered a higher mileage, cost less than the first. I'd appreciate it if someone could help me understand the discrepancy. It's frustrating to feel like we're being taken advantage of, and I believe it's essential to speak up. If they wish to contact me,my email address is [email protected] as am currently overseas.

Most reviews are usually written by unhappy customers, while those who are satisfied often choose to simply enjoy their happiness. But here’s a plot twist, I believe it would be selfish to receive outstanding service and not share it. I had the most wonderful customer experience with a salesman named Kulani “Bigman” Mkansi. The entire application process was seamless, everything was handled with the utmost professionalism, and every detail was on point. I would highly recommend this gentleman, he truly embodies what excellent customer service should be. We collected our car yesterday after a smooth, hassle-free process. Thank you once again, Hyundai Woodmead!

Pre arranged to view a vehicle, only to be told on arrival that the vehicle was taken the day before by anther dealership. This after confirming the viewing, taking off from work and travelling from Vanderbijlpark to Woodmead. The sales rep had all my information, but no timely correspondence, not even a valid apology. Even after the disappointing visit, no feedback from the dealership if the vehicle is still available or to arrange alternative viewing. Is Hyundai Woodmead interested in doing business?
