Based on recent customer reviews, Howler.co.za receives polarised feedback from event-goers across South Africa. Customers consistently praise individual support agents, particularly named consultants, for fast, friendly resolutions to ticket and account queries. However, a recurring theme is frustration with the refund process, where attendees report denied claims even after purchasing comprehensive refund insurance. Complaints also surface around duplicate charges, unredeemable cashless wallet balances, login failures at event entry, and unreliable ticket upgrades. The platform shines on direct service interactions but struggles with policy enforcement and post-event financial resolution.

Pathetic service and use their waitress to overcharge people. I have been complaining about an overcharge that was at the bar for family and friends. I described the lady who did this down to the red and white beads she had on her wrists, showed the purchase and listed what was bought and what I was charged. Kedibone was handling my ticket and it is 2026 with an over charge of R600 plus with no assistance.

Attended Balcony Mix Africa 2026 using Howler, and while parts of the event were enjoyable, the overall experience was disappointing due to poor planning and inconsistency. One of the biggest issues was the sudden restriction on cans when entering the main stage area, despite other stages allowing them. This forced us to pour multiple drinks into several cups while moving through a crowded space, which was not only inconvenient but also felt unsafe. Managing more than five cups at once is unrealistic, and it increases the risk of drinks being spilled or tampered with. At events of this scale, long queues for drinks are expected, which is exactly why people purchase multiple drinks at once. This restriction completely overlooked that reality and negatively impacted the experience. Additionally, guests who had bottles or cans were placed far from the stage, yet there was insufficient lighting and the screens were not working properly. This made it difficult to even see who was performing, which defeats the purpose of attending a live music event. The overall setup also felt underwhelming, with very limited décor and little effort made to create a memorable atmosphere. Compared to similar events like Kunye, this felt like a step down in both planning and execution. To end on a positive note, performances by DJ Kent and Sun-El Musician were standout highlights. However, the rest of the experience lacked clarity and cohesion. It’s also unclear what the true identity of “Balcony Mix” is meant to be compared to other well-defined events. Overall, this event had potential but fell short due to avoidable issues. I hope improvements are made in future, as attendees deserve a smoother and more thoughtfully planned experience.

I am frustrated and disappointed with the way howler has handled my situation. What should have been a simple ticket purchase has turned into a stressful and costly experience due to what I can only describe as highly questionable and ********* behaviour. I attempted to purchase tickets through their website, and during the process, I received an error message indicating that the transaction had failed. Naturally, I assumed the payment did not go through. To avoid losing the tickets, I immediately made another payment (within minutes) using an alternative method and successfully secured the tickets. However, I later discovered that the first transaction had actually gone through as well, meaning I was charged twice for the same purchase within minutes of each other. I have since contacted the company multiple times, clearly explaining the situation and providing proof of both transactions. Despite this, they have completely refused to acknowledge the duplicate charge and have made no effort to resolve the issue or refund me. This is unacceptable. Any legitimate business should be able to see that two identical transactions occurred within minutes and treat it as a duplicate payment error. Their refusal to act raises serious concerns about their integrity and customer service standards. At this point, it feels like they are deliberately avoiding responsibility and holding onto money that does not belong to them.

I have been trying since 5 January 2026 (today is 31 January 2026) to register my daughter for the Sanlam peace run. They insist that we can only communicate via mail - we have now had 26 responses, and they keep asking the same questions. It leaves one helpless and disappointed. I would recommend Sanlam reconsider this service organisation.
