Good day House of Salim. I went to your Alberton branch and made a layby for a lounge suite. A gentleman called Mohammed kept on calling me to confirm if I want the day bed on left or right hand side. I have not confirmed anything with him yet as my husband and I were meant to come and conclude so he can order or send details to the supplier. Due to unforeseen reason that I disclosed to him I will not be able to continue with the layby. He is giving me a run around on the cancellation and saying he has ordered already. I am surprised how he ordered without a confirmation of what we wanted. I would like to know if I will ever be refunded my R20k because according to the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 I am allowed to cancel a layby and be refunded and only he is allowed to levy 1 percent penalty fee of any costs he incurred. I am so disappointed as I am in need of this money. Please get back to me with concrete feedback. I have never experienced such bad customer service in my entire life 😞 I will never recommend anyone to buy from you. Regards Annah

I spent close to 50 000 rand at House of Saleem Glen store over the past year- This means that I have been a loyal customer... and need to be treated with care. I bought a glass coffee table in 2020.... 5 months later the glass fell off but did not break, I then took it back as I was said that they cannot exchange it but they will fix it- with convincing they claimed that the coffee table was exchanged. I picked this up from the store, took it home only to find out that this coffee table was inferior as the swivel glass was touching each other when turned. I then immediately called Saleem who said that this is strange and that I am the only customer complaining and that they sold a lot of these. I then left it as is until 2 moths later the glass fell off again. I called Saleem on the 1 December to inform him that the glass has fallen again and explained that this is a risk because my mom could have gotten hurt and she is 76 years old- The response I received from Saleem was that they cannot give me a different coffee table they will fix it again but I must wait until next year. What type of service is this for a reputable Company. I am under no circumstances taking this coffee table back- I want an upgrade even if is any cheaper coffee table. To mention that I had tried calling the store at-least 5 times from the morning and no one was prepared to help me.

Bought a bedroom suite from them in March 2020, it got delivered just before lockdown. The quality and workmanship did not match the price. I complained and was told to wait till after lockdown. They refused to refund me and Muhamed Kolvadia promised to get it sorted out. Fast forward, after months of them not communicating with me, about a month ago they finally collected the furniture to repair it. Yesterday they came to deliver it and lo and behold it has not been fixed properly. There are now chips on the set and issues I asked them to address are still not fixed. I refused to accept the delivery, now Muhamed says he was told they'll store it in the warehouse until I collect. All I want is a refund, but they don't want to refund me. What a bunch of thieves. NEVER DEAL WITH HOUSE OF SALIM!

I bought a bedroom suite from House of Salim in Alberton in December 2020. When the bedside tables was installed to the headboard, the headboard's holes didn't match up with the bedside tables. This caused the drawers to be tight and not open and close properly. I called Mohammed and they exchanged the bedside tables for me within a few days. Overall not too bad service from this company.

I will NOT recommend house of Salim to anyone. They are pathetic. They dont give your order on time and I sent over 20 emails and didnt get any response, every time I call I'm told that my call will be returned by I never get calls back. My order was so simple yet they cant give me any feedback. They take your 50% payment and after that you never hear from them. Pathetic cheaters

House of Salim - Alberton We bought a couch from Muhammad for R 25,000!!! Extremely disappointed in the dishonesty we experienced. Upon purchasing the couch we were met by a very accommodating Muhammad that promised us a good quality product with a life time guarantee on structure and cushion refills. When time came to refill the cushions he once again guaranteed us it was covered!!! 2 weeks later we make a booking to refill, after numerous follow ups and wondering when they will come collect the cushions, i finally got feedback that all of a sudden it is no longer covered and it is now chargeable!!! This is really unprofessional and dishonest. I wouldn't recommend anyone purchase anything from Muhammad. You will be promised the world for the sale and then left high and dry after spending a lot of money. Highly unethical and poor service!!! I wish i checked the reviews of House of Salim - Furniture before i purchased my couch as it seems its a common issue with them seeing all the reviews and poor excuses!!!

I bought furniture for R77500. All the furniture that was delivered was directly from the floor (used) & not from the warehouse (new - as Salim promised) The result was that most of the furniture was damaged eg glass table scratched, two mis matched Dalia chairs with dents & insufficient foam on couches. I took it up with Salim & after months of trying to resolve this matter I requested that he should at least replace the two mis-matched Dhalia chairs but he's refusing. Salim is an unethical & dishonest businessman. Don't buy from House of Salim - you will regret it!
