I engaged with GetWorth on 12 May 2026 to sell my 2025 VW Golf R-Line Plus. This is vehicle that I, as a VWGA employee, leased from new for 2 months and then purchased in December 2025. When purchasing a vehicle from the factory, it is standard procedure that vehicle be delivered to the purchaser through a VW dealership. I nominated Tavcor VW in Port Elizabeth as the delivering dealer, thus the invoice of the vehicle was generated by Tavcor. GetWorth sent me a "firm offer" of R581 398, after which I was called by them regarding the offer and I accepted this offer. On that call, I was told that because my vehicle is less than 9 month old, I had to furnish GetWorth with the invoice of the vehicle, amongst other documents. After the call, I received an email requesting the required documents, which I then sent to GetWorth. When I sent the requested documents, I copied my brother on the email, as he was in possession of my vehicle and would be handing it over. Just 2 months prior, my brother had sold a 2025 VW Golf Life Plus to get worth, which was also a former lease vehicle of mine, purchased from the factory, via the same Tavcor VW dealership. A day later I received call from GetWorth stating that they would not be purchasing my vehicle, because Tavcor sells auctioned vehicles and they do not buy auctioned vehicles. The representative also added my vehicle is less than 9 months old and they do not purchase vehicles less than 9 months old. I was obviously really confused by the claim that the vehicle I purchased through a VW dealer was now being labeled as an auctioned vehicle. I tried to rebut this claim, but the line got cut. The GetWorth representative then sent an email reiterating what she had previously stated on the phone call. She also attached screenshots of a Google search showing that Google's AI says Tavcor does auction vehicles and Tavcor Motor Group's website showing that they do have an arm that auctions vehicles. My brother then rep**** stating that when he sold his vehicle to GetWorth, he dealt with the same person and there were no issues about whether the vehicle was auctioned. He also asked for clarity on why this is an issue now. The representative rep****, merely stating this policy is new. However, this policy was in place when brother sold his car to GetWorth. I sent a follow up email, asking GetWorth to clarify whether they are claiming that my vehicle is an auctioned vehicle and I obtained it by means of an auction. They had not responded after 6 days. However, what GetWorth should had done from the outset, but failed to do was call the dealer who invoiced the vehicle to check if the vehicle was auctioned. They did not note that on the invoice there is a line that states "Sales Type: FACTORY". I suspect GetWorth made an offer they were not willing to honour and resorted to levelling false accusations to get out of it.

I submitted details, of the vehicle, which i'm wanting to sell, to this crowd. They assumed the vehicles mileage is high (116,000km over a 151 month period) , which equates to about 9,133km per year. Vehicle has a FSH. Really disappointed, with these armchair vehicle assesors, or whatever they call themselves. We've had previous dealings with Getworth.. however, think this is where the relationship ends

Fantastic experience with GetWorth - Andre was professional and efficient. The entire process, from inspection to final sale, was handled at home and completed within an hour. By far the best car selling platform I’ve used in South Africa. Would definitely recommend.

It was a great experience to sell a vehicle via getWorth. They were quick, efficient and professional. It was a pleasure dealing with them, from the office staff through to Andre (who did the inspection). I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone. Well done guys.

We recently looked at purchasing a Toyota Quantum from Get Worth Milnerton dealership. With a cash transaction and signed OTP, I was only waiting for the the sales person, Angelica, to confirm further instructions to finalise the deal. Only to receive an email notification that they sold the vehicle to another buyer, without explanation! I tried reaching out to Angelica and the dealership principle multiple times, with absolute zero response from them!!! They simply blocked my calls and not responding to any messages. This is totally unacceptable and unprofessional. How can you simply dump a client who has confirmed on a cash deal with a signed commitment??? These people have absolute zero moral compass and don't have the decency or professionalism to handle the situation. They simply ignored my existence! Be warned and stay clear of GET WORTH!

I accepted an offer on my low mileage 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA 200 and submitted all the required documentation. I was subsequently contacted by a getWorth "inspector", who advised that he needed to conduct an inspection of the vehicle, and we agreed on an appointment. The "inspector" contacted me again prior to the appointment to ask whether the vehicle had the Progressive package or the base specification. I then shared the original tax invoice from Mercedes-Benz, which clearly reflects the Progressive specification as part of the full vehicle details. Despite this, the "inspector" advised that the vehicle is not a Progressive model, stating that this had apparently been confirmed by a Mercedes-Benz dealer. When I contacted Mercedes Benz Bedfordview they were kind enough to confirm in writing to me that the vehicle is indeed the Progressive line. I'm willing to share this correspondence. I then was contacted by a person from the getWorth office in Cape Town also trying to convince me that the vehicle Mercedes sold me is not the vehicle I have. They must be using amazingly advanced technology to be able to ascertain without viewing the vehicle. Previous reviews, indicates that many sellers appeared to have had positive experiences selling their vehicles to getWorth, which is why I initially chose to proceed with their offer. Unfortunately, my experience was different. From my perspective, it felt as though the process was designed to secure a commitment to the deal and then subsequently try to reduce the offered price without even inspecting the vehicle.

The most common complaint about getWorth, based on Hellopeter's AI analysis of recent customer reviews, is Communication & Aftercare. After-sales communication breaks down repeatedly once issues arise. Customers report being ignored, ghosted, and refused warranty support beyond the six-month CPA period. Aftersales managers fail to honour promised callbacks, forcing escalation to the Ombudsman.
