I recently visited a branch in Centurion to apply for a loan. I was being assisted by Dreshni and she said I need to borrow for 3 consecutive months before they can increase my amount that I qualify for. I then paid back all my installments on time. With the fourth loan, I encountered financial problems and couldn't pay on time. This is where the harassment started. Dreshni kept on calling manager at work asking to speak to me, I told her to stop doing that yet she continued. She then went on to tell me that my non payment is affecting her salary. I then went into the branch to make a payment arrangement. Shortly after that, I received a sms from Dreshni saying that if I don't pay the full outstanding amount by the end of this month she will humiliate me at my workplace. What kind of a registered financial provider is this who threatens people by saying they are going to humiliate them at work? I am going to escalate this matter to higher authorities.

Breach of privacy and harassment Barko Financial Services sent agents to my home to demand payment, which is already intimidating. Worse, they allowed my family members to take photos of my private loan contract and share it on WhatsApp and with other parties without my consent. This is a serious violation of my privacy and POPIA. I escalated to the Area Manager who was made aware, but the damage is done - my financial information is now circulating. Debt collection must be lawful and respect dignity/privacy. Barko’s conduct is unprofessional and ********. I am reporting this to the National Credit Regulator and Information Regulator.

I had an outstanding amount of R3600 which was paid off last year April but it still appears on credit bureau,I have tried leasing with the branch several times they promised to look into it ,this is sad as this is affecting my credit score negatively

I have been a client of Barkos for some time now. Today, I found their service appalling, I pay every month, I reached out the agent doesn't greet, the when I asked the first agent a question she said her colleague is back I should WhatsApp her which I did she blue ticked me Hayzel didn't bother to greet and just said "chomi we offline," not even a sorry we are offline i cant give a time frame as to when we would be back online but will keep you updated, I think Parow branch should do better, I pay faithfully they are not doing a paying customer a favor it is money we are bringing to the business.
