ADT Debiting My Account 17 Months After Cancellation and System Removal

ADT continues to debit my account 17 months after cancellation and after their technicians physically removed the system. In 2024, when I moved premises, I met with ADT representatives who removed the security system from my old premises. During that meeting I clearly informed them that I would not be installing a system at the new premises, as I had decided to proceed with a different security provider. I also cancelled the contract in writing twice, including in September 2024, when I notified ADT that I would be vacating the premises in October 2024 and requested that the equipment be removed and the contract terminated. Despite the system being removed by ADT themselves, and despite the written cancellation requests, ADT has continued to process monthly debit orders. In February 2025, I noticed that I was still being charged and raised the issue again. I have since sent multiple emails and attempted to resolve the matter by phone. Last week I spent 43 minutes on the phone with customer care, only for the call to be disconnected before the issue was resolved. To date, ADT has debited R21,918.70 from my account after the cancellation request and after the system had already been removed. For context, I run three businesses and employ nearly 60 people. One of my businesses still uses ADT services. The account in question relates to a separate business where the system was removed and the premises vacated in October 2024. As a business owner running multiple operations, I simply do not have the time to repeatedly chase companies to action written and verbal instructions, especially when the system was already removed by their own technicians. I am requesting the following urgently: Immediate closure of this account A full refund of all debit orders taken since September 2024 Written confirmation that the contract has been terminated An explanation as to why my cancellation was never actioned Given that the system was removed by ADT and written cancellation was submitted, the continued debiting of my account raises serious concerns regarding unauthorised debit orders and internal cancellation processes. I would appreciate urgent assistance in resolving this matter.

Account department useless

Receive statement today 5/3/26 Shows overdue . Made payment on 28/2/26. Phone but have to hold for more than 5minutes . What an useless accounts department . I can never speak to them . Mysterious department at Adt .

Disappointed customer

I am so disappointed at the service am getting from ADT. I paid in full for the system for my home security on Monday night and filled in all the paper work required emailed everything thats same night. I requested for the installation to be done on Saturday due to my intense work schedule. It’s Thursday today no one has called me to make arrangements. The sales guy is not picking my calls or responding to my whats app. I have a life and things to plan and now what must happen? I moved everything with the intention of have the system installed this week end and I am getting Zero communication. When i call the center no one answers the phone. This is so disappointing from being disappointed by a contraced company of ADT to being disappointed by ADT its self. So many promises were but a simple communication can’t be maintained.

ADT’s Negligence Cost Us

I am writing to lodge a serious formal complaint regarding ADT’s shocking negligence, failure to respond to a legitimate security concern, and overall poor service — all of which directly resulted in our business being ****** twice and losing approximately R90 000 worth of stock. On the 1st of March, we contacted ADT to report suspicious individuals lingering outside our business premises. We clearly explained that we suspected these individuals were planning something, even though we could not yet confirm it. We asked ADT to please keep an eye on the area and increase patrols until we were certain there was no threat. ADT’s response was unbelievable. Your operator told us that ADT “does not deal with suspicion” and therefore could not assist. This alone is shocking for a company that claims to prevent crime and protect communities. Just two days later, on the 3rd of March at around 01:00 AM, our business was ******. The alarm went off the moment the ********s entered, which scared them away at first. However, when the ADT responder arrived, he did not even bother to check the premises. CCTV footage clearly shows that our outside door had been tampered with — something he would have easily noticed if he wasn’t sitting in his car on his phone, passing by as if he was not even on duty. Because ADT failed to inspect the premises properly, the ********s once again took advantage of this negligence. Knowing there was no real monitoring or patrolling, they returned shortly afterward and stole products worth ±R100 000 without any difficulty. At this point, we see absolutely no point in having this security company, especially in Soweto where crime happens at any time and vigilance is critical. What is even more disturbing is that after losing so much stock, the only response we received from ADT was “sorry.” Even now, your team is still not performing proper checks or monitoring the premises. This level of neglect is not only unprofessional — it is dangerous. We demand the following: 1. A full investigation into the call centre agent who dismissed our warning about suspicious individuals. 2. An investigation into the responder who failed to conduct a site check on 3 March. 3. The complete incident report for that night, including response times and actions taken. 4. A written explanation of ADT’s policy regarding suspicious activity reports. 5. Assurance of corrective action and accountability. 6. A formal written response from ADT management. Your negligence enabled ********s to return and execute a major *******. This could have been prevented had our initial warning been taken seriously or had the premises been checked properly. We expect urgent and meaningful action from ADT.

No response from ADT and Shoprite Amanzimtoti

Good day all This is my second post regarding the horrific experience I had at Shoprite Amanzimtoti On the 14 February 2026,I was purchasing 4 pies off the value off R16.90 each,I was under the influence off alcohol and hungry,I ate 1 off the pies inside the store,when I was at the cashier to pay for the pies,I forgot about the pie I had eaten in the store,after paying at the cashier,I was approached by 2 ADT guards,if u can call them that .they told me I did not pay for 1 pie, obviously under the influence off alcohol I forgot,I apologized and said I will pay for the pie,u even gave 1 off ADT guards the pie for the pie,which he took,then takes me to the office and the person in charge that day says no lock me because I am an Indian,he wants to make an example off me That's when I flipped out ,they handcuffed me so tight up until today I still have the marks on my hand Was it justice to make me spend 2 nights in the holding cells at Amanzimtoti police station for a R16.90,?,which I gave the money to the ADT guards?all because I am an Indian guy? I missed 3 days off works, because off this,I suffered in that smelling unhealthy holding cell for a R16.90 pie, does ADT consider that justice??? I will not stop until these people who made me suffer face the consequences off their ****** behaviour,I will appreciate feed back soon,it's been 3 weeks no response I have gotten,if Shoprite and ADT conduct and employs people like this, please don't support these businesses,there are better businesses out their who can treat customers better

Worst Service provider

Worst service provider ever, debited my account 27 Feb and again 29 Feb , the amount is not even the same, why do they feel entitled to my money? Been paying and have never seen a single patrol car for over 6 months 🙄 just out here ****ming people
