Adendorff Machinery Mart
Based on recent customer reviews, Adendorff Machinery Mart elicits sharply divided experiences across its branch network. Customers consistently praise certain staff members by name for product knowledge, helpfulness, and going the extra mile, with standout service noted at branches like Roodepoort, Montague Gardens, Brackenfell, and East London. However, a recurring theme is frustration with spares availability, repair turnaround times, courier and delivery mishandling, and unresponsive communication. Several shoppers describe rude or dismissive frontline interactions, disputed warranty outcomes, and difficulty securing refunds, leaving an overall impression of inconsistent service quality dependent heavily on individual branches and personnel.

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Adendorff Somerset West. I purchased a compressor on 30 May 2025 which is still within its one-year warranty period. On 9 May 2026, the solenoid failed and the unit was handed in for repairs. We live in Struisbaai, which means every visit involves a long trip, time away from work, and significant travelling expenses. Despite this, there was absolutely no sense of urgency or attempt to accommodate us as customers. We were informed that the part would be ordered and that the repair would be done the following week. After confirming in advance that a technician would be available, I made another trip to Somerset West — only to be told on arrival that nobody was available to complete the repair. The lack of communication, follow-up, and overall customer service was shocking. Daniel was unhelpful and unprofessional, and the branch manager, Alex, promised to personally provide feedback but never contacted me again. Now, after the compressor has finally been repaired, I am suddenly expected to pay R650 for a problem that occurred within the warranty period. This is not only about the money — it is about poor service, poor communication, and a complete lack of accountability towards customers. I would strongly recommend that Adendorff review both their customer service standards and their handling of warranty-related repairs.

Ardendorf pietermaritzburg Disgusting service. I have bought from Ardendorf and supported them over the years. However after today never again. I was looking for hog rings. Normally I look for the items myself. However I could not find them. I went to the counter and asked if they had hog rings. The guy at the counter asked the guy on the floor to go look. I went with this guy and he could not find them. I asked him do they have, he just ignored me speaking to the guy at the counter. He walked off not saying nothing. I thought maybe he went to ask another guy at the counter. However that was not the case he wss discussing a personal matter with this guy. I went back to the first guy and asked him if I was going to get assistance. He looked around and never answered me. I walked out.

Generator quality worst you can buy. Carburator links break before it is 6 months old. Maybe 200hrs of work time. I have tow of them. Both same issue, different models. Also both have had valve issues repaired.

Excellent service. I bought a drill long time ago at Adendorf Welkom. After a couple of years I guess about 6 years it broke. I went to Welkom and told them its not working and I understand that its out of guarantee. They could not fix it so they send it to JHB and they told me they couldnt fix it. They gave me a new drill for less than half price because they said I looked well after it. Best service ever!!

Dear Adendorff Head Office, I would like to raise a concern regarding the service I received at the Adendorff Edenvale branch on Saturday, 14 March. I am bringing this to your attention as I believe the situation could have been handled in a far more professional manner. On the day, I visited the store to collect my battery charger machine that was in for repairs. While I was there, I found two sets of spanners on the shelf which I intended to purchase. When I took the items to the till, Thandeka asked Peter for assistance as the items were not appearing on the system. Peter then advised that the items had already been sold. However, he proceeded to take the spanners and place them in the delivery tray. I explained to Peter that I am a regular customer at the store and that I had taken the items directly from the shelf with the intention of purchasing them. I suggested that the store could sell the items to me and replenish the stock from another branch or head office. Unfortunately, Peter refused and stated that the items were reserved for another customer. I felt the situation could have been handled in a much more professional and customer focused manner. Instead, Peter’s response came across as abrupt and dismissive. When I tried to further discuss the matter, he walked away from the conversation. I then asked to speak with the manager and was informed that Jandray was busy at the back of the store. As I had already collected my repaired machine, I decided to leave the store without purchasing the tools. As a loyal customer of Adendorff and the owner of a tyre franchise store myself, I understand how important customer service is. I believe this situation could have been resolved differently, and unfortunately the experience left me feeling disappointed.
