I am placing this complaint publicly because I believe consumers are entitled to raise legitimate complaints about defective products and poor responsiveness. This complaint is not an attack on every Soviet product, and I am not saying that all Soviet clothing is poor quality. I am speaking only about my own experience with one Soviet jacket bought from the Soviet store at Wonderboom Junction approximately seven months ago. This was the first item I ever bought from Soviet. I usually buy from Truworths and similar retailers, but while walking through Wonderboom Junction I went into the Soviet store, saw the jacket, liked it, and bought it. I expected good quality. About two months after purchase, one of the side zippers came out. I complained to Soviet at the time, but I did not receive any proper substantive response. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to that email account, and I no longer have the till slip. Because it was “only” a zipper at that stage, I left it. The jacket has now developed a hole in the pocket area. If I put something into that pocket, it goes straight through. I have photos showing the jacket and the defect. I must make it clear that this jacket was not used for manual labour, construction, field work, or any strenuous activity. I do office/admin work. The jacket was worn normally to keep warm. In my view, a jacket from a recognised clothing brand should not start failing like this after normal use. That is the issue. Not abuse. Not rough use. Normal use. I am raising this because consumers in South Africa have the right to complain when goods appear defective, when quality is disappointing, and when a company does not respond properly. A customer should not have to fight just to get a clear answer.

I entered their Valentine competition and I was contacted by Talia Huysamen who works for the company. She send me a facebook messenger message congratulating me on being one of the winners - I chose option B which was the ladies hamper. I was requested to send my personal details size shoe etc, to her and they will send the prize via courier in time for valentines day. I was excited so I sent my details off and was very happy for a few days... until this same person sends me a message to say SORRY You didnt receive the message from Soviet page, so I wont win anything. HUH? That's it? no - sorry but perhaps we will send you some chocolates to say sorry for the mishap. I am very disappointed! I want to throw my soviet clothing and shoes away I would never support your brand again - you have no empathy for people!

Just wanted to warn everyone about my terrible experience with Soviet shoes. Bought a pair and the soles cracked after minimal use. Contacted customer service and they said it's out of warranty (6 months). Not impressed with the quality. Guess I'll be sticking with Levi from now on! 😒"

Soviet Denim is a horrible marchant. I reveived a wrong order. I called them and nobody is bothering themselves to resolve this matter. Till this day im still waiting for their call and they ignoring my calls now. Nobody seems to know how to handle such cases. And the ladies at the head office lacks telephone etiquette. They have no respect for customers. I want my REFUND. Soviet must compensate me for all the money i used to try and get assistance for the mess they created. I am frustrated my BP is very high. I want my Money!

Soviet Denim is a horrible marchant. I reveived a wrong order. I called them and nobody is bothering themselves to resolve this matter. Unfortunately I had to choose one star because there is no option for zero stars. Ordered shoes online. Got two left shoes, one a 6 and one a size 8. This was a gift for someone, imagine the embarrassment as a gifter, giving a total disfunctional product. So very unprofessional
