If I could, I would not even give one star. The company is dishonest and *********. I had to cancel my reservation due to family unforeseen circumstances. Had doctor/hospital notes. In the T&c's it clearly states that if you cancel 48 hours prior to collection that you will receive a full refund! R6000 was deducted for cancellation fee. I have sent emails trying to resolve this matter but to no avail. I will NEVER EVER use this company again and will definitely NOT RECOMMEND them.

I STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST USING THIS COMPANY!!! I am still in shock! My booking number is 790093217. Just rented a car with them this morning for tomorrow. Paid, then when I called the affiliate car hire company, was told that I will needed a credit card to collect the car. When I said on the website it said debit or credit card, they said credit card or they will not release the car. Advised me to call rental cars so they can make alternative arrangements for me. Callec Rentalcars.com, these ****** basically told me that there is nothing they can do because if I had clicked on refund policy of that company, I would have noticed that despite rental cars stating that they accept debit/credit card, that company only accepts credit card for the R15 000 plus deposit! I am flawed. What an unprofessional and disgusting company!! Never again. Con artists, my money is gone and no car. No refund, pathetic!!! I am being told that there is a 48hr cancelation policy, which is great, but I booked this morning and when I called the affiliated company to confirm and was told about the credit card story, immediately called rentalcars to assist in getting me a car with a different company. This is the worst service and **** I have heard and experienced in a long time. I would STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST USING THIS COMPANY!!!

I STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST USING THIS COMPANY!!! I am still in shock! My booking number is 790093217. Just rented a car with them this morning for tomorrow. We booked a car through Rentalcars.com from Alamo on arrival we were informed that we cant add my fiance as a extra driver and pay with her credit card. Our already rental payment was penalized with a 70% cancelation fee and had to Uber. Worst customer service .

I wish I had read all the reviews on Hello Peter before booking through rentalcars.com / booking.com. They booked me a same-day car rental through Alamo in the USA, only to find when I got to the Alamo rental counter that Alamo doesn't do same-day car rentals, and didn't have any stock available. Why does rentalcars.com book me this car when Alamo doesn't have the car available? This seems dishonest to me. When trying to claim a refund, they were entirely unhelpful, telling me that it appeared to them that I had picked up the car. You would think they would ask Alamo whether this is indeed the case but, no, this is seemingly too difficult for them to do. Instead, I am left stuck in-between them and Alamo. So, lesson learnt for me, I will rather go direct through a car rental company.

I have rented a car from Woodford Care hire from 11 Feb- 18 Feb from Cape Town international through rentalcar.com (**********84 ref#). When I arrived there I was told that they do not accept debit cards and that i need to transfer the funds via carhire.com to another car hire place. The cars that were available were SUV's and mini vans which I didn't want. And the Woodford agent was not very helpful in assisting me. I then contacted carhire.com. They assured me they will refund me as soon as Woodford repay their money. Up to-date which is a month later no refunds were received. According to rentalcar.com Woodford is not getting back to them. I will give the same review to them as this is really an eye opener and I will never make use of their services again.

I have rented a car with the above mentioned company and i was reaped off. Firstly i was told that the rental was going to be R5900 which i made the payment of the 20th December at 5:30am and went to collect the car at 10am and the collection was not a success as i didn't have a credit car. I then called rental car. com and a rude lady assisted me and told me i will loose my booking fee as the 48hrs has passed. to my surprise which 48hrs because i booked the car on the 20th and collecting was the 20th and it was only 4 and half hours. why was i charged cancellation fee for 48hrs while i didn't take 48hrs to cancel but less than 5 hours. The lady was rude and didn't want to listen to my side of the story. I need my balance of R900 as what they did is to cheat me .
