I bought an item from them. At the time of buying it says available in JNB and after I order check the tracking.. it says waiting for the supplier for stock and the delivery date was 11 March 2020(8 days away from the order date). I escalated my issue with the customer care and the next thing is my order is already delivered today :) Great business!! Great customer care! Happy customer:)
Somebody told me about the SBSA device store (https://devicestore.standardbank.co.za/). At first, it looks like they are offering great deals. I also fell for a device which is iphone 11 64gb. I was confused when I saw: Cash deal/ Once-off: R17499 24 X installments : R599 X 24 = R14376 How can a cash/once-off deal is more than the monthly installments? Also, when I inquired about it the customer care don't have a clear answer. They were saying that we don't charge any interest on the monthly installments. Which makes it a super deal. But then they also said that they'll charge 11% on the interest. Again which make this deal worse. This is what you see when you proceed to checkout: " You can buy any device upfront on your Cheque or Credit card, alternatively, you can pay it off monthly, if you have a credit card with a budget facility. If you select to pay it off monthly, the full reserved amount from your credit card will be displayed in the payment gateway window. You will receive a special interest rate of 11% on this reserved amount. The monthly payment including the interest, will be the per month price advertised on our site. " So, as per the above and customer care in both cases they'll deduct the full amount once-off. But if you select monthly installments then they'll deduct 11% interest every month, which in some cases more than the normal interest rate applied. It is very confusing... if anybody knows the catch please explain. What I understand is pay for the device in full. Then pay R599 for 24 months for iphone 11 64. and on top of that pay the intereston your CC what ever outstanding. I have called the device shop/credit card/mobileSABS/normal SBSA call center but no clarification. Please make it clear if anybody can. Thanks
Hi After switching to Afrihost I know how happy I was with Evonet fiber. Their support is awesome (Mike). I have a wonderful experience with them and their fiber connection. Regret migrating to Afrihost. I will be back as soon as I sort out Afrihost.
Hi I have recently migrated from Evonet to Afrihost fiber connection. And to my surprise, the connection is not even near to what I was getting it from Evonet and for the same speed 20/20 Mbps. I have asked them many times that if there is anything that can be done from my or their side to make it any better. But the service never gets better. I have installed their router and mine old, nothing made any difference. I have called support few times and they said all well on their and the Vumatel side. I wanted to discontinue their services and they want me to pay R999 for that. Now they want to talk about their 60 days money back scheme. I have never used their router and they can take it back. On top of all that they have made it worse by charged me twice for the same connection. Now I have two accounts with them one for myself and one for my in-laws. With different payment option for each. As per their migration plan my plan should be free for 3 months. Now they got confused and charged twice for the same plan(10/2 Mbps - R499) it deducted from both payment options I have on my account. I am on it with their support from Thursday( 2 days ). Now today got a sms saying that a call is scheduled for Monday to chat about it. I have made a BIG mistake moving form Evonet to Afrihost. Being Evonet a small ISP their support and service is on top, very helpful. Please let me know if someone knows how to get myself out of this mess?

So I had a fiber install from Vumatel and ISP was Telkom. it's been more than 3 weeks now and Telkom can't trace my request which should be coming from Vumatel side. From last 3 weeks, I was tossed between Telkom and Vumatel for sorting out my issue, they blame each other for the fault.

I called Telkom call center and they say they didn't get the order request from Vumatel and they can't help me with anything... Vumatel says they have done whatever they need to do on their side and it's on Telkom now to sort it out.

Don't know where to go? where to get B-number/Tin number/order number???

I had an ADSL account with Telkom and upgraded on their offer to Fiber (same price + more data + more speed) with Vumatel+Telkom.

My Fiber was working on guest account until the moment I canceled my ADSL and voice account. My Internet speed has dropped to say 2 times slower and I can't access most of the sites. Vumatel told me that It's coz I am on guest account coz Telkom didn't activated my data.

I have already made more than 30 calls/10 times live chat and been to the Telkom store 2 times.. But the only thing they do is put me on hold and it seems like they forgot about the waiting client... and when they come back they have only one reply that they can't track the order and Vumatel supposed to send us the order and they didn't do it.

Last Monday(8 July 2016) I chatted to one of the senior manager (Lindy) in Vumatel, we chatted about all my issues and she assured me that it'll be sorted soon. She gave me an email ID ********** and asked me to write everything to this ID and assured me that this person will help me! it's Thursday today and no one replied!!

I canceled my ISP(Telkom) from Vumatel portal and waiting for them to call me to resolve the account ( which doesn't exist on their system :) )

I have experienced the worst side of Telkom..
