Had 2 excellent technicians from Vumatel to install my service. The connectivity is excellent!!!! No more black screens waiting for adverts to load, like on Rain. These 2 young men from Soweto were brilliant. Extremely respectful and fast workers. By the time they left we could already connect to Vumatel Webafrica. I didn’t even wait for Rain’s service to end. I immediately connected to Vumatel as soon as they told me I can. I am so happy with their fast connectivity! YouTube adverts and programs load immediately if not sooner!
I’m so glad I’ve moved from Rain to Webafrica Vumatel! I was one of the first people to join Rain when Covid started. This was a the time when Willem Roos was still at the helm. It was fantastic! Then he left and it seems it was bought by ANC or EFF and their service dropped! Their network got to be so weak and problematic! Then you call their technicians, and can’t hear a word they’re saying! I asked this one conceited idiot technician, where he was from as I couldn’t hear a word he was saying. He told me he’s in Johannesburg. I had to dig which country he was from and eventually he said he was from Philippines! Why the hell is Rain using foreigners as technicians, whilst our South African youth whom we can understand can be trained to be technicians.
I joined Rain right at the beginning of Covid19 round 2020, when Willem Roos was still part of it. Lately it’s become the bane of my existence! The slow speeds and constant buffering! Am glad I’m moving to a new service provider next month! The problem is even if you call their technicians, they are from Philippines and you can’t understand a word they say! Their accents are so thick and inaudible it’s disgusting! Why employ foreigners instead of South Africans, so that we can understand them?!
I would like to thank Thembekile Thelma from Checkers Mall of the South. This is a belated compliment and I apologise. This young lady young as she is/looks gave me such great service on 28/03/2026! I was at your store and I had lost my smart shopper card. I had previously been to Shoprite and I had to borrow another client’s card. When Thembekile realised my predicament, she took matters into her own hands and got me a new card and registered it immediately for me. Such a small looking gesture but one that made my life so much easier. Management be on the lookout for such employees. They’d make great managers some day.
I used to be so happy with service from Pick ‘n Pay MrD Mall of the South. Orders used to arrive within 30 minutes. These days one waits over an hour 30 minutes. Maybe I should go back to Checkers sixty60. Their orders arrive under 30 minutes!
Comparing Mr D and Checkers sixty60 these days, Checkers is the ‘stering’ Shem! They used to be on parr but these days MrD is the slowest coach Shem! Use sixty60 for faster deliveries!
I would like to thank Mall of the South Steers’ manager Rudolf. After a bad experience where I was given an order with old chips, I tried calling their landline no. which is always not available. I then saw that there was a cell no. On their receipt. I called and spoke to the manager Rudolph. He was very professional and even offered to come collect the bad chips and replace them for me. True to his word he drove to my place replaced me with fresh upsized chips! I’d been having a bad day, and his act of kindness truly lifted my spirits! I normally fear ordering via MrD Steers mall of the South and use Steers columbine square or Comaro crossing, but I think I’ll try ordering via Rudolph’s branch again.
Had the most unpleasant experience at McDonald’s Mall of the South today. Sadly most of the staff seemed to be South Africans. The computer system shows orders As being ready and coming out, yet when customers approach to collect their orders, the staff rudely tell you they call out ready orders. So the computer systems telling us our orders are ready, are just a suggestion!
No matter how much you may crave Indian food, stay away from this **** Indian restaurant! You'd sooner find a better Zimbabwean restaurant that makes batter Indian food than them. Their Biryani is thee most disgusting thing I've had to throw away. They use red food colouring on the whole thing. Their lamb looks like little red pieces of bush meat you see in Nigerian movies. Rather buy your own ingredients and youtube your way into cooking a decent Indian meal.
As one of the first customers to sign up to Rain because of my trust of my previous boss Willem Roos. The service has been consistently going downhill. I only discovered recently that Willem is longer part of Rain. This makes perfect sense to me. The way Rain is now run, is quite similar to how the South African government is being run. I requested a call back from Rain just now. I’ve gotten 2 calls just now, but the agent Lulama pretends not to hear me. I was a call centre manager in 2002 already! I know all the tricks lazy agents use to avoid working…Especially on Friday. We’re out fighting for South African youth to get school placement, jobs etc. How do you fix a country of such lazy people, who are lucky enough get employed by abo Rain, then mess these jobs!
