Don't be deceived by estate agents' recommendations to use them. They quoted R31,046 for water, electricity, and gas compliance, but I got it done elsewhere for only R4,422! They incorrectly claimed my geyser needed replacing, which my insurance company disputed. They quoted R3,901 to replace a short plastic gas hose with copper and install 4 vent grommets. When I challenged their R1,700 inspection fees, they brushed off my complaint, saying “we provided a service”. It would seem the business model is taking inspection fees and then a) dissuading small jobs by giving inflated quotes or b) making massive profits from the uniformed customers that accept their obscenely high quotes. Don't waste your time and money like I did. Check online reviews before dealing with them!

I opened a savings account at ABSA in order to transfer some money out of my home loan. I had to go to the branch more than once to deal with the many issues below (this is besides the point actually). The experience was highly unpleasant but it was made better by Tamara Dayanand, she is very professional and knowledgeable. She kept me up to date via email and I could see that even after I left the branch she worked on these issues throughout the day. She really went the extra mile. ABSA needs more people like her.<br> <br> Branch trip:<br> 1. Internet banking never worked on my savings account because for some reason the card never allowed it?? It was a bad batch of cards??<br> 2. Couldn't access my loan because, it wasn't \debitable\". Account is now \"debitable\".<br> 3. Couldn't access the money. The access facility couldn't be enabled because there was a hold on the account. Collections and Mortgage department couldn't remove it. A request form had to be filled out. The contact to send this form to was a person that no longer works at ABSA. A person was found that could deal with the removal.<br> 4. Had to sign the access facility request form after the hold was removed. I now have my money."
