FNB is just not able to get anything right. We lost the petrol card last year - they issued a replacement THAT WORKED WITHOUT A PIN! No security whatever. When they cancelled that, I app**** for a Credit card type petrol card. That took 2 months to get. First use - "invalid card number". Two weeks later, that was fixed. Next use - Limits exceeded. Is FNB able to do ANYTHING? Banking certainly isn't one of their abilities.
If you have endless time to waste, call the FNB line. Some ****py answering machine will waste your time, and direct you to a worthless robot. You will be directed round in circles and then be put on hold because "we are experiencing a high volume of calls" (not surprising when you consider how FNB operates). Finally I got through to someone really helpful, but oh dear - I wanted to rate him as excellent (below) but there is no 'send'. Another FNB failure. Dear We at FNB believe that solid relationships and consistent dedicated service are the ingredients that position us to best service your financial needs as you journey through your life stages. Requested household insurance to be added on 20 April. Promised a reply in 6 - 8 hours. Tried again on 28 April. Noquitula said she would add it from that day. Still not added 12 days later
A simple query turns into a time-wasting nightmare. The FNB branch number on Google maps (087 345 1250) is never answered. Using this number and the contact number on the FNB website subjects one to an endless litany of stuff nobody needs Getting and answer to a simple question takes around 10 monutes.
Vodacom are fundamentally dishonest. We have tried for years to cancel a contract for a former employee, AND a contract that is for nothing - appears to be imaginary. Vodacom have refused to cancel these, and now claim that someone walked into two different vodacom shops and renewed the contracts. They can't or won't produce the paper work, and nobody had the authority to do that anyway. I advise everybody to never have any dealings with vodacom
Palm Tyres Maitland is the best! Moira and her team are friendly and efficient - the tyres and hubcaps are even washed!
I've (unfortunately) been with Momentum for a number of years. But when you sign up with Momentum, you are on your own! I cannot get a single advisor to respond to me regarding investments. They also don't respond to requests for tax certificates. Be warned: When you go to Momentum, you aren't a client - you are just a number.
I have been trying for more than a year to cancel a vodacom contract. In September 2025 we were promised telephonically that the last payment (for a number that hasn't existed for some years) would be in October. In December, Vodacom is still *******ly debiting our account. I would suggest that nobody EVER take out a Vodacom contract. They can't be trusted, and aren't interested in customer requests. Best to miss them altogether.
PAXI was a great idea but doesn't follow through. If a parcel is lost, there is NO help available. Neither of the lines advertised is answered, and the Whatsapp is no help - IF somebody bothers to answer it. A pity, because it works well until it does not work.
We were let down by another company, and Display media came to our rescue. They made up a package of gazebo, fitted tablecloth and sharkfin banners in a couple of days to fit our deadline.
