Poor Communication and Refusal to Refund
I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from The Playhouse, and I feel other customers should be aware of my experience. From the very beginning, communication was poor. I initially enquired about the R5950 party package and received an automated response directing me to their website and booking platform, without anyone actually addressing my specific questions. Despite this, I went ahead and made a booking. After booking, I needed clarity and assistance regarding the package and arrangements, but communication remained difficult and unhelpful. Important questions were not properly answered, and it felt like there was no real customer support available. Due to the lack of clear communication and the frustration of not getting the assistance I needed, I decided not to proceed with the booking and requested a refund. However, The Playhouse has now refused to refund me. At no point was the service delivered in a way that gave me confidence or met reasonable customer expectations. It is very concerning that a business can provide such poor communication and still refuse to refund a dissatisfied customer. I would strongly advise others to be cautious when booking, as you may struggle to get assistance when you need it and could face difficulties if you request a refund.

Follow-Up Complaint: Continued Harassment by Umvelo Risk Management Agents Acting for ABSA Vehicle Finance
Date: 28 October 2025 This morning, two agents from Umvelo Risk Management arrived unannounced at my home once again. One of them identified himself as John, stating that he was acting on behalf of ABSA Vehicle Finance. John arrived with his colleagues — one driving a white Renault Kwid and the other a red Tata — and they were accompanied by a tow truck. Their intention was to seize my vehicle, despite the fact that I have formally filed a Notice of Intention to Oppose in court regarding this matter. I explained this to them clearly, yet they continued to insist and refused to leave when asked. This behavior constitutes trespassing, ************, and interference in a matter currently before the court. This is not the first incident — I have reported multiple cases of harassment by agents claiming to represent ABSA Vehicle Finance, including those from Umvelo Risk Management, M Sumber Recoveries, and CRM Agents. Despite my prior written complaints, the harassment has persisted. At this stage, their actions have gone far beyond debt collection — this is harassment and a violation of my constitutional right to privacy and safety, as well as a breach of the POPIA Act. I am demanding that ABSA Vehicle Finance immediately confirm in writing whether these individuals and companies are officially mandated to act on their behalf. I also request that all contact and collection attempts through third-party agencies be suspended immediately, pending the court process. I will be reporting this latest incident to the South African Police Service for trespassing and ************, and will escalate this matter further to the Information Regulator and the National Credit Regulator if it is not resolved promptly. Enough is enough. This ongoing harassment must stop.

ABSA Vehicle Finance – Ongoing Harassment, False Claims & POPIA Violation by Their Agents
I am beyond frustrated with the continuous harassment I’ve been facing from agents claiming to represent ABSA Vehicle Finance. On 3 October 2025, I received a WhatsApp message from a lady at M Sumber Recoveries and Investigations saying there was a warrant for my car and asking for my home address and when they could “come fetch the vehicle.” The next day, I got the same message again, this time by SMS from a different number. On 6 October, I contacted ABSA Legal Department, who told me to contact their “warrant team.” I sent an email, but no one responded. Only after following up again the next day did I finally receive copies of the supposed summons and return of service. Since then, I’ve been harassed daily by multiple companies: EDC Federal – endless calls from a man named Kobus; CRM Agents – two men, Thapelo and Sandile, showed up at my house on 11 October with no call or warning, opened my gate without permission, and walked around my yard; Umvelo Risk Management – they call me nonstop using different names: Gugu (manager), Tshepo (claiming to be the sheriff), Johannes, Charles, and Anthon. On 22 October, Anthon even came to my workplace, saying he had come to my house the previous day and sat outside watching to see if my car would arrive so he could repossess it. This is absolutely unacceptable! I have explained countless times that I have taken the matter to court and that I will only hand the vehicle over to the official Sheriff of the Court, not to private companies. Still, they keep calling, showing up at my home and workplace, and even contacted my daughter — which is a serious POPIA violation. When I asked for recordings of their calls to me so I could open a case, they refused to provide them. I am calling on ABSA to take immediate action: Confirm whether these companies are truly acting on your behalf; Stop them from contacting me and my family; Ensure that any future engagement happens only through proper legal channels. No one should have to live with this kind of ************ and invasion of privacy.
