I purchased a Milex robotic cooker for several thousand rand because it is marketed as a multifunctional machine capable of tasks such as kneading dough. After only two years of normal use, the machine broke when a small plastic gear inside failed while making dough — something the machine is specifically designed to do. When I contacted Milex support, I was told that the required part is not in stock and cannot be supp**** separately. Their only suggestion was that I send the machine in for assessment. However, they cannot provide any lead time, cannot estimate the cost, and cannot even confirm when the replacement part will be available. This means I could be without the machine indefinitely, with no guarantee that it will even be repairable. For a product at this price point, this is completely unacceptable. When a company sells appliances like this, there should be a clear plan for maintenance and spare parts support. Instead, I am left with an expensive machine that is unusable because of a small plastic component, and the manufacturer cannot offer a clear path to repair it. What is also disappointing is the lack of effort to explore practical solutions. If the part is unavailable, alternatives should at least be considered or suggested. Instead, the responsibility and inconvenience are placed entirely on the customer. I rely on this machine daily, and the current response from Milex shows very poor after-sales support. At this stage I will be escalating this matter further, as customers should not be left with an unusable appliance simply because a small internal part fails and the manufacturer has no parts available. I would strongly caution potential buyers to consider after-sales service and parts availability before investing in this product.
Retail Capital’s behaviour is *********, aggressive, and downright damaging. I had a formally approved payment plan of R500 per month, which I have stuck to without fail. Despite this, they falsely claim I’m 120 days behind and handed my account over to debt collectors. They even debit my account without authorisation, taking more than agreed. I have proof of the agreement and all payments made – but none of that seems to matter to them. Instead of resolving the issue, they send threatening emails, falsely accuse me of breach of contract, and list me at the credit bureaus, damaging my credit record even though I’m paying as agreed. Their customer service is absolutely terrible. No one takes accountability, no one responds with accurate information, and no one seems to care about resolving the matter fairly. If you’re thinking of doing business with Retail Capital, don’t. They are reckless, unprofessional, and show no respect for the people or businesses they claim to support. Avoid them at all costs.
Extremely Disappointed with Service I ordered the Buy 2 Get 1 Free special and even paid extra for earlier delivery. Three days after placing my order, I was informed that delivery would take 10 business days — completely defeating the point of paying for faster shipping. Then, a day after being told my order was dispatched, I was suddenly told that the products I ordered were out of stock and I had to choose something else. I didn’t order on a whim — I needed those specific products. Instead, I was forced to settle for alternatives I didn’t want and ended up losing money in the process. The response from the company? Just one excuse after another. This whole experience felt like a waste of time and money. I won’t be ordering from Standard Beauty again.
Review for Retail Capital I am absolutely appalled by Retail Capital's attitude and treatment of loyal clients. I have been with them for years, consistently paying off loans (often ahead of schedule) based on my business income through the Yoco card machine. After relocating to a new province and starting my business from scratch—a challenging and demanding process—they are now threatening me with legal action, despite my history of reliability and loyalty. It's shocking how little compassion and understanding they show for small business owners facing temporary hardships. Instead of supporting long-term clients during difficult times, they resort to threats. If you're considering working with Retail Capital, think twice. Their lack of empathy and rigid approach could make a tough situation even worse. I regret trusting them and would advise others to explore more supportive alternatives. Avoid this company if you value customer care and long-term support.
