Retirement payout taking forever and pensioner starving!

It is with a sad heart that I write this review. After months of my mother trying to get a payout from her Retirement funds, all she gets is the run around and there is always an extension on the time when she will receive her funds. My mothet retired in December 2025 as she has reached her desired retirement age of 65 but, to date, she has not received the money that she worked for her entire life and is with Discovery. We have been to Discovery at Sandton where we were assigned a Broker; who knew that we needed that? And had we not gone there, when was this going to happen? And now, the Broker says that the money cannot be paid out in a lump sum, another surprise. We wait for him to do what he is doing and now, three weeks down the line; my mother is being told that they only received the forms to process payments yesterday morning and the process will take uo to six weeks. From December and now another six weeks? What does Discovery think that a retired old lady is surviving on all along? Why are retirement funds not ready when the person the stipulated retirement age on the agreement with its members? Do these money actually get paid out to the people who have been saving for a comfortable retirement because there is no comfortable retirement if this is the case. Elderly people are given stories and been made to run from pillar to post to get their payouts. This all looks like an operation not to pay those funds at all. It has taken way too long and there is no resolution, just promises. I would not reccommend that anyone invest with your company in any way if asked to do so. The worst service to a pensioner with no income. What then?

RAIN Failure to deliver

I ordered the new Rain Loop on Saturday the 17th. Intending to start a business relationship with Rain but now I think that I will regret my decision. The Loop was to be delivered within three to five business days and I gave them my office address since Jo'burg CBD is convenient for all but there was no delivery made. I called in on Thursday to find out where my order was and was told that it would arrive the following day. Needless to say; I would not be in the office that day but, I made alternative arrangements. I was given the Courier Company details and Reference number and when I contacted them, they told me that RAIN had canceled the order from their side. I called on Friday and was told that the order was going to be sent on that day and; (no shocker there) NOTHING! I called in again today and spoke to a nice Indian lady who told me that the Loop is still going to be delivered within this week. Really? If this is how you treat new business, how long do you see this relationship lasting or should we just cut our losses and go our seperate ways RAIN?

The worst customer service from Shane at the FoneYam Call Centre

I just spoke to a consultant called Shane who was very rude on a call to me because she could not provide me with the balance on my FoneYam account. Initially, the agreement was that it will be paid off in three months which is all good and well. Upon making the second payment I am told that I should contact their customer service; a waste of my time; and they will assist me. She too, says that they do not have the three month payment option and I have to pay over a period of 12 months. Me being me and trusting that we can sort this out; she then asks me security questions; to which she says I have failed. I asked her how I have failed questions like where did I buy the phone and the last pay date; which by the way I am looking at on the receipt and she goes on to say; 'I am telling you that you failed the question. Call us later' She then has the nerve to offer me more service. What service? And does anybody know if there are people who are willing to work in that damned place. If so, may they please contact me before I implode. I need this sorted!

IEC Official denied me a vote

I relocated in 2019 to Braamfischer from Diepkloof and I did not change and of my details but voted for the Municipal elections. And now after queueing for over an hour before I go to work; I am told that I need to go and vote at Diepkloof because that is where I'm registered. Not happy at all about that and I do not understand why I cannot vote for the National President at any voting station within the borders of this country.

Capitec Incompetence and Bullying

I have had a terrible experience with this bank for some years now. Initially there was ***** on the account that I had with them and I have submitted four affidavits to them to make it clear that I DO NOT know anything about that and if I hadn't gone to them to get a new card they would have just kept quiet since the account was inactive. And NOW! There were funds transferred into that account because the person who sent them to me uses Capitec and paid via Payshap and I was asked to bring proof of payment which I did on Wednesday already. And today, I went to their Diepkloof branch and they asked me to bring an affidavit for the ****** account which was closed in 2021. I do not want it, I just want my money. The audacity to suggest that I go and write another affidavit which produces no results and also send an SMS to me suggesting that they switch my salary by the same people who are holding my money ransom while they collect affidavits is just appalling. Give me what is due to me and let us part ways! I have never experienced such incompetence and bullying from an institute and I wish never to go through this again.
