This is now three months since Car Service City North Riding seized my engine, and they have done nothing to fix their error. The manager is nowhere to be found, we are in a hopeless situation and to top it all off, the response I received after laying a complaint is “we’ll wait to see what the ombudsman says”. Inhumane, awful and abhorrent company.
I am absolutely disgusted by the way Car Service City North Riding has handled my vehicle and this entire situation. I received an engine warning on my car and immediately took it to Car Service City to have the oil-related issue checked and repaired. I did the responsible thing by taking the vehicle in as soon as the warning appeared, trusting that my car would be in professional hands. I was told that I would be able to collect my car three days later. Three days passed with no proper update. A few more days went by, still with no communication, so I eventually had to call them myself. I was then told that I could collect the car at 3pm. Then, at around 2pm that same day, they contacted my husband and told him that they had driven the car and the engine had seized. The fully functional car I took in for an engine warning and oil issue was now completely undrivable while in their care. They then told my husband that the vehicle would need an engine overhaul, but that we would have to pay for them to remove the engine and inspect what had broken. This is despite the fact that the engine seized while the car was with them. They also claimed that the problem was caused by whoever had serviced the car previously. The shocking part? Car Service City are the only people who have ever serviced my car. We made it clear that, in our view, the responsibility sits with them. The vehicle was in their possession, they drove it, and the engine seized while under their care. Instead of taking accountability or assisting us properly, they refused. Then, two weeks later, my husband went to collect my undrivable car, only to find the engine removed from the vehicle and taken apart. What exactly was being done to my engine? At no point has this situation been handled with the level of communication, care, professionalism, or accountability that any customer should expect. Months have now passed since the start of this awful ordeal, and we are still left with a broken car, no proper resolution, and no willingness from Car Service City to fix what happened while the vehicle was in their care. I took my car in because of a warning light. I left with a seized engine, an undrivable vehicle, and months of stress. Please, please think carefully before taking your vehicle to Car Service City. Based on my experience, I would not recommend them to anyone.
I ordered a coffee table from the Makro app, which was supposed to be delivered on the 24th of April. On the day, I received a notification that they were not able to deliver to my address. I was at my house waiting for the delivery. Upon calling the call centre (and waiting for ages to speak to a human), I was told that the incorrect courier has my parcel. It is 28 APRIL AND I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY PARCEL. Please do not support this company, because they exist simply to *****.
I’m almost certain this place is a ****. After applying for a car and getting a message that my application has been approved, I received no response to my messages for weeks on end with absolutely zero feedback. When we finally reached the salesperson, we got told that the finance person should call us to tell us why the application was declined. No phone call, no email, no answer to our calls or messages. Extremely unprofessional, utterly unhelpful and truly pathetic. Avoid this place at all costs.
It is quite exceptional how truly terrible it is to deal with Vodacom. After 2 years of paying off my phone contract, they have consistently messed around with my debit orders and have now TWICE debited double amounts off my account without paying me back. My phone contract was fully paid, but they continue to debit DOUBLE debit orders. Absolutely appalling the way they conduct business and I hope that nobody supports them. If you try go into an office to resolve the issue, you Will deal with someone incredibly rude and patronising who won’t even assist you. Absolutely terrible experience and I hope nobody else has to deal with them.
I thought that I would be done with having to write reviews, but it is the only way to communicate with these people. I’m after my initial credit card being cancelled for no reason, my new card has not been delivered. When I phoned in to enquire about this, the person who answered the phone hung up, again. I have no idea what is going on with the Capitec call centre, but I am genuinely shocked at how many times they’ve hung up the phone. I genuinely cannot understand what is wrong with the people on the phone. Shocking.
I have never dealt with such an unprofessional and disrespectful company in my life. I have been waiting weeks for my credit card only for them to cancel the card because THEY made a mistake with the payment. I have spent HOURS on the phone with their call centres and have dealt with the rudest and most unprofessional people I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Not a single person was able to tell me what what is wrong with my credit card and I am actually getting desperate with trying to resolve this issue to no avail. The person who called me from Mercantile bank deserves to be fired for how rude she was to me. On top of that, I have been hung up on several times by these people and I can’t even reach the complaints department to tell them about my experience. I am shocked and appalled at the service received by this place and how disgustingly they conduct their business. Absolutely abhorrent.
