I lodged a complaint with the Council for Medical Schemes (CMS) under reference CMS 90754 regarding a dispute with my medical aid. I was formally informed that the final ruling had been completed and would be issued by close of business on 13 March 2026. It has now been over four weeks, and despite multiple follow-up emails — including escalation to the Registrar — I have not received the ruling or any explanation for the delay. This matter is urgent and involves: • Cancellation of medical aid membership • A disputed amount • My wife requiring urgent surgery due to a serious medical condition The lack of communication and failure to issue the ruling is causing significant stress and medical prejudice. I urgently request that CMS release the ruling or provide a clear explanation for the delay.
My wife and I app**** for Discovery Health membership earlier this year and provided all requested information honestly and in good faith. Despite this, Discovery later claimed that we had not disclosed certain medical details — something we strongly dispute. They used this alleged “non-disclosure” as a reason to cancel our membership, leaving us without medical cover at a time when we urgently need to proceed with an important medical procedure. We formally challenged the cancellation and, at Discovery’s request, submitted my wife’s full medical history on 8 October. It has now been over a month (10 November) and we have still not received a single written response from Discovery. Every time we call, we’re told “the matter is escalated and being looked at,” but no one can give us a timeframe or outcome. To make matters worse, Discovery has since issued a letter demanding R14,000, even though our membership remains under dispute. This entire ordeal has caused my family enormous emotional distress, uncer*****y, and financial anxiety. No family should be left without healthcare because of corporate silence, endless delays, and unfair treatment.
@Discovery_SA has declined our medical aid membership despite us disclosing our medical history in writing-twice. i have lodged a formal complaint with discovery well over a week, but i have still not received any written response. in the meantime, my family has been left without cover while we urgently need to proceed with a medical procedure. To make matters even worse during my telephonic conversation with a discovery consultant, trying to understand why we are being cancelled i asked the consultant must i disclose something as small as a headache and she responded "Yes". This highlights how unreasonable and impractical discovery's approach to disclosure has become. it feels like Discovery is using alleged "non-disclosure" as an excuse to avoid funding care we are entitled to. No Family should be placed under this kind of unnecessary stress and trauma when seeking health care.
Bought a Alva Gas heater. There was *****s and nuts missing and one of the edges were damages. This was clearly a return they failed to check and just put it on the shelves like that. Really bad service!!!! After i drove all the way get the heater and now i have to spend money on fuel again to return it!
I have ordered an item the 3 of November. It was added as delivery. Today is the the 28th of November and i have still not received anything. I have phoned multiple times but that does not seem to help either. From a company with such a good reputation i feel like this is the worst experience i have ever had. This is completely poor service. It has been 18 working days. This was my first time buying at hirchs and they have disappointed me big time. I cant say i would recommend them.
